Axew is a tusked dragon Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the first in a three-step evolutionary line, with its evolved forms being Fraxure and Haxorus.
Information[edit]
Axew is a small Pokémon with powerful tusks. They use their tusks to crush the berries that they eat as well as to carve gashes into trees as a way of marking their territory. Axew can quickly regrow a new tusk if one is broken, and its tusks become strong and sharp through repeated regrowth.
It evolves into Fraxure at Level 38.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, they were uncommonly found at Mistralton Cave.
Other Appearances[edit]
Video Games[edit]
- In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Axew made a cameo appearance in background of the Dragomark Chamber of the Kalos Pokémon League stage. Its appearance in the Wii U game is also accompanied by a trophy.
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, Iris's main Pokémon in the Unova series was an Axew. It was a scrappy young Pokémon that dreamed of becoming a Haxorus despite its inexperience, and instead of a Poké Ball it traveled in Iris's hair. She received Axew as a gift at her hometown when it was just a few days old.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name seems to be a combination of "axe" and "chew" (referring to its tusks).
