Bors is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi and one of the three armor knights in the game.

Background

Bors is a kind-hearted Armor Knight from Ostia who served under Lord Hector and Lady Lilina. Although a skilled fighter, he is not as dedicated to fighting as his long time friend Barth, who regularly trains at arenas. In contrast, Bors largely felt that fighting was pointless without a cause. Despite that, he was able to defeat Barth once in a martial arts battle, though his own memory on the event was hazy.

Before the war, he assisted Cecilia in providing Roy training in combat during the game's tutorial. He was the boss of the tutorial and guarded the castle. However he joined up with Roy in "Chapter 1: Dawn of Destiny". Lady Lilina had continued on to Pherae Castle, but afterwards the castle was overrun by bandits. Bors joined Roy's own troops and helped to retake the castle. Afterwards he was ordered by Lilina to continue to assist Roy in his travels and to protect him.

In "Chapter 8: Reunion", he was shocked to find that not only had Barth arrived to stop the rebellion in Ostia, but also that his sister, Wendy had just been knighted. Although he disapproved of it at first, he came to accept it, though he constantly worried about her and stayed close to protect her. He was afterwards reunited with Lilina, who thanked him for his services to Roy so far.

Following the war he returned to Ostia with Lilina where he lent his hand in helping to rebuild the wartorn land. Thanks to his kind nature, he was able to unite the divided people and bring the country back into harmony.

Support Conversation Summaries

Bors is capable of having support conversations with five other characters.

• Lilina- Bors asks Lilina if something has been bothering him, but she rebuffs him by saying its nothing. When he tries to press more, she snaps at him and leaves. In the second conversation Lilina apologizes and explains that she's been irritated at how much Roy has changed lately. Bors explains that even though he's matured, he is still the same person. In their final conversation, Lilina is much happier and asks for Bors to always stay by her side.
• Barth- In their first conversation, they catch up on old times. Barth says that he has been training at the arena, but Bors disapproves of the idea of a knight fighting for money. In their second conversation Bors asks if had been alright for Barth to not be in battle with Lord Hector. Barth admits that he had been naive to think Ostia was at peace. Bors tells him not to blame himself for that. In their final conversation, Barth asks why Bors became an armor knights. Bors said it was to be a shield to protect those he cares about, whereas Barth says he became one because he felt they were the strongest fighters. The two vow to work together as a strong shield and spear.
• Wendy- Bors and Wendy in their three conversations keep bumping into eachother. Each one Bors calls a coincidence and inquires as to Wendy's well being and encouraging her to rest, keep up her equipment, or whether or not she's dating anyone. In their final conversation Wendy says that if she's going to be strong, she can't depend on Bors all the time, making Bors realize he was being too overprotective.
• Oujay- The two introduce one another as Ostia Armor Knights. Bors comments that Oujay doesn't seem to be an Armor Knight and Oujay explains that he is trying to fill in the parts that the squad is missing. In their second conversation, Oujay mentions that he heard that Bors had beaten Barth once in a martial arts battle. Bors confirms this, but says he remembers little of it because he believes that there should be a good cause to fight for. In their final conversation, Oujay admits that he doesn't have a cause for fighting, as he is only a mercenary trying to feed his family. Bors corrected him by saying that a cause doesn't have to be large scale things and that trying to feed his family is a good cause to fight for.
• Asthor- Asthor starts the first conversation with an odd greeting and admits he's been drinking. Bors reprimands him on it, but Asthor explains that all he does is open doors and chests, he's no good for fighting. In their second conversation, Bors says that Asthor is setting a bad example for the other troops. Asthor instead apologizes for Lord Hector's death, as he feels he didn't do his job properly in warning him. Bors says it wasn't his fault and reinforces this in the final conversation by saying it was all their responsibility. He goes on to say that Asthor is as much a loyal knight as he.
