Bronzong is a large, bronze bell-shaped Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It is the evolved form of Bronzor.
Information[edit]
Bronzong evolves from Bronzor at Level 33. It can summon rain clouds by opening portals to other worlds, and because of this people long ago revered it as the bringer of plentiful harvests. Ancient people would often petition it for rain as a result. One Bronzong was dug up at a construction site after a 2000-year sleep and became a news sensation.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Versions, Bronzong could be found somewhat commonly at Mt. Coronet and Turnback Cave. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it could appear at the Safari Zone's Forest area if enough Forest or Rock objects were present. In Black and White, it uncommonly appeared at the Abundant Shrine.

Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, a Bronzong statue come to life acts as one of the three bosses of the Aegis Cave (alongside Hitmonlee and Regigigas statues), and Bronzong could only be actually obtained by evolving a Bronzor. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Hippowdon Temple. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Oblivia Ruins and the Thunder Temple. Bronzong also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at Eternal Tower.
Other Appearances[edit]
In Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, Lucian owned a Bronzong that appeared in several episodes of the Sinnoh series. A Bronzong belonging to the antagonist Marcus also played an important role in the twelfth movie, where Marcus planned to use one to control Arceus. The Bronzong itself was acting against its will due to the special armor that Marcus has forced upon it. After the armor was destroyed, Bronzong had realize the error of its ways and turned on Marcus. Other Bronzong have made smaller appearances in the series.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Byron had a pair of Bronzong that he used during his battle with Platina in the Diamond/Pearl arc. She was able to defeat them using her Ponyta, which was its first real victory.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name seems to be a combination of "bronze" with either "gong" (which is a different musical instrument) or "dong" (which is used to represent a bell's sound).
