Duskull is a skull-faced ghost Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. Its only evolved form was originally Dusclops, but the fourth generation later introduced Dusknoir as the new third and final stage in Duskull's evolutionary line.
Information[edit]
Duskull usually wander among the deep darkness of midnight. Once it finds a target, it will relentlessly pursue their targets and only stop when the sun rises. Duskull can pass freely through walls and love to make children cry by scaring them. Mothers often tell children that Duskull will come to spirit away misbehaving children, but it is uncertain if this is true. Duskull also has a single scarlet eye beneath its skull face, the glare of which can make an adult freeze with fear.
It can evolve into Dusclops at Level 37.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Ruby Version, Duskull was commonly found at Routes 121 and 123 as well as Mt. Pyre, while in Sapphire and Emerald they are only found uncommonly at Mt. Pyre. In Diamond and Pearl, they could only appear at Route 224 when using the Pokéradar. In Platinum, they uncommonly appeared at Route 209 and the Lost Tower at night, and they could also be rarely found at Turnback Cave at all times of day. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, Duskull could appear in the Safari Zone's Swamp area when enough Rock or Water objects were present, and they were found through surfing when using the latter method. Duskull could also be caught at the Winner's Path course of the Pokéwalker, from which it could be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, a Shadow Duskull could be snagged from Cipher Peon Lobar at Pyrite Town, and after being purified it could be traded to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Channel, it appears at Springleaf Field on clear or cloudy nights. In Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, Duskull is found in the Forest, and many Duskull also appear in the Dusclops minigame where twenty of them must be hit to make the Dusclops appear. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Secret Storage 17, Endless Level 38, Forever Level 4 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it could be recruited at the seventh through fourteenth floors of Sky Tower and the eleventh through fifteenth floors of Darknight Relic, while in Explorers of Time and Darkness it was recruitable at Sky Stairway. In the latter game, a non-playable Duskull also ran the bank at Treasure Town.
In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Chroma Ruins. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at the Old Mansion and the Dark Temple. Duskull also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Haunted Zone and could also show up at the Meeting Place.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, Duskull has primarily made minor appearances. One briefly appeared and scared May in the first episode of the Hoenn series, and Duskull was shown among a colony of Ghost-type Pokémon living in a mine in another episode.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Duskull initially made minor appearances during the Ruby/Sapphire arc, where they belonged to members of Team Aqua and were seen in the wild. During the Diamond/Pearl arc, it received more spotlight and was shown as part of Fantina's team.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a simple combination of "dusk" (due to its association with nighttime) and "skull" (because of the skull on its face).
