The Empress Bulblax is the matriarch of the bulborb family.
Information[edit]
Various changes in the environment will cause the egg sac of the largest female in a given area to swell. It will hatch the eggs irregardless of what may be happening around it. The Empress Bulblax seems to have no appetite once it's begun reproduction processes, and will simply protect itself by crushing other creatures (including her own babies) with its elongated body. It may also cause cave ceilings to collapse on other creatures by rolling into the walls repeatedly, but this is probably unintentional.
Empress Bulblaxes are weakest in the face, rather than on their backs like most bulborbs. It is especially good to avoid their rear in case Bulborb Larva begin to hatch, as they can be particularly voracious. When killed, the Empress Bulblax's remaining eggs will erupt and its egg sac will collapse, leaving an easily carried corpse.
Scientific Report[edit]
- The Empress Bulblax can be carried by 20 pikmin and is worth 15 pokos. Its babies, however, leave nothing behind.

- In the Super Smash Bros. series, the Empress Bulblax has been represented as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and as a Legend-rank Primary Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Its Spirit could only be obtained by enhancing a Level 99 Spirit of a Bulborb, and this Spirit came with the added effect of doubling a player character's stats through consuming edible items.
