Fado is a character from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones who is the father of the game's main protagonists, Eirika and Ephraim.
Background[edit]
Fado was a ruler of Renais who was known as the Warrior King. He was a responsible king who did what he could to maintain his ties to the other countries while raising his twin children. Fado also secretly protected the nation's Sacred Stone and ensured that it could only be accessed using two bracelets. He gave the bracelets to Eirika and Ephraim, without telling them the bracelets' purpose due to their youth, and this was a sign that he trusted them with Renais's future. The trusted knight Seth, whom he treated like a second son, was one of the few who knew the truth, and he was not instructed to let the twins know unless a great peril befell the land. Fado was proud of Ephraim and believed that he would make a great king one day.
Fado was shocked when Grado began its sudden invasion of Renais. He wondered if he had erred and was somehow responsible for Grado's sudden aggression. In "Prologue: The Fall of Renais", as the Grado troops began to penetrate Renais Castle, Fado ordered Seth to retreat with Eirika to Frelia, since he still trusted them. Keeping the twins safe was his greatest priority. Fado stayed behind and was killed during the ensuing siege.
Trivia[edit]
- Fado could be unlocked as a bonus playable unit in Creature Campaign by completing the Lagdou Ruins once.
