Gigalith is a powerful rock-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the third and final stage of Roggenrola's evolutionary line.
Information[edit]
Gigalith evolves from Boldore when traded to another trainer. Gigalith's crystals are capable of absorbing solar energy, which is stored in its internal core. Once magnified and compressed, Gigalith can release this energy as an attack that is apparently powerful enough to blow away a mountain.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Gigalith has not been found in the wild can only be obtained through evolution.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Gigalith could be found within the cave area of the second basement floor of World Axle, and Gigalith would also appear in canyon areas of any level when Terrakion was nearby. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Gigalith appeared in the Train Depot at the Tech Area, and after Roggenrola was befriended, Gigalith could be befriended by defeating it in a battle.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, a wild Gigalith was featured in one episode of the Black and White series where it went on a rampage through an area. Ultimately, Alder was able to stop it with just his bare hands, and the Gigalith turned out to have been angered by a nail that stuck to the bottom of its foot.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a combination of "giga" (in reference to its size and likely its power) or "gigas" (a race of earthborn giants from Greek mythology) with "lithos"(which is Greek for stone).
