Mime Jr. is an infantile mime-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It was created to act as the new baby form for the first generation Pokémon Mr. Mime.
Information[edit]
Mime Jr. can only be bred under certain conditions, if one of its Mr. Mime parents is holding an Odd Incense item during the breeding process. Mime Jr. habitually mimics foes, to the point where the foe cannot take its eyes off of Mime Jr. They will usually try to escape after the opponent is distracted. This Pokémon will also mimic others' expressions and motions in order to understand their feelings. It likes places where people gather.
A Mime Jr. will evolve into a Mr. Mime when it levels up after learning the Mimic attack.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, it was among the Pokémon that could be randomly placed in the Trophy Garden by Mr. Backlot on a daily basis. In Diamond, it could also be found at Routes 209 and 210, being somewhat common in the morning and rare in other parts of the day. Mime Jr. could also be caught using the Pokéwalker at the Sinnoh Field course, and from there it could be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver.

Other Games[edit]
A statue of Mime Jr. appears as an unlockable prize in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. It could actually be recruited in Explorers of Time and Darkness at the first nineteen basement floors of Happy Outlook. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it was found at Boyleland. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs', it appeared at the Old Mansion and the Fire Temple. In Pokémon Rumble, it was found at Eternal Tower. Mime Jr. also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Meeting Place, where he spent time in the tree house.
Other Appearances[edit]
In Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, Mime Jr. was first shown as a pet and a form taken on by Mew in the eighth movie. Team Rocket's James also obtained a Mime Jr. late in the Battle Frontier series. It originally lived with an old couple at one of James's former vacation homes and grew attached enough to James that it initiated its own capture within one of James's empty Poké Balls. James used it throughout the rest of the series and the entirety of the Sinnoh series, and he sometimes used it in Contests with good results. It was left behind at Team Rocket's headquarters prior to the Unova series.
Trivia[edit]
- Mime Jr. was named simply to reflect it being a younger counterpart to Mr. Mime.
- In HeartGold/SoulSilver, the Mime Jr. will mimic the player character if interacted with in the CopyCat's room.
