Background

The current chief of Orange Star's forces, she rarely leaves Orange Star and thus her duties usually consist of protecting the borders. Every now and then she will teach new COs, such as Andy and the new war advisor. During both invasions of Black Hole she only offered intelligence support and did not actually engage in battle. During the third invasion of Black Hole, she left her younger sister, Rachel, in charge of taking care of Omega Land.

Presumably she stayed to protect Orange Star. She attended the same military school Grit and Max did and it's possible a love triangle may have begun between the three.

Gameplay

Nell is considered a 'Super CO' since she is unlockable in all three games and possesses units superior to most normal COs encountered in the game. Her primary advantage is that her luck is increased, which means she has a greater chance of doing massive damage to an enemy.

• Lucky Star - Nell's regular CO Power, increases her luck enough that she can do up to 60% more damage.
• Lady Luck - Nell's Super CO Power, increases her luck enough that she can do up to 100% more damage.

Trivia

• Nell had a slight design change between versions of the first Advance Wars game. The Japanese version depicted her top without sleeves and her skirt as being short. The international versions of the game gave her full sleeves and a longer skirt, with this design being used in all future appearances.
• Nell is not the only unit affected by Luck scores, but the other two primary characters (Jugger and Koal) have luck that can cause more damage or less damage. Nell can only do normal damage or higher.
