Petilil is a petite plant-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It evolves into Lilligant.

Information[edit]

Petilil are small Pokémon that prefer moist soil which is rich in nutrients. Therefore, its habitats usually are ideal areas for growing plants. Each Petilil has several leaves on its head. The leaves are known to taste bitter, yet eating one leaf can refresh a tired body.

Petilil evolves into Lilligant when exposed to a Sun Stone.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: White Version, Petilil can be uncommonly found at Pinwheel Forest, Lostlorn Forest and Abandoned Shrine. In Black, it is not found in the wild and can only be obtained by trading a Cottonee with a trainer at Nacrene City.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Petilil was found in the treetops and field areas of Shimmering Lake as well as in the treetops of World Axle's second basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, it appeared at Seasong Beach in the Cove Area and was befriended through a chase.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Petilil appeared as an enemy in Smash Run mode. It walked around and used Sleep Powder to put fighters to sleep. Its appearance was accompanied by a trophy.

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, a group of Petilil have only made a minor appearance in the fourteenth movie.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, a Petilil was briefly seen in a flashback near the beginning of the Black/White arc and seemed to be the pet of a young Bianca, although her father appeared to be yelling at her regarding it.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name seems to be a combination of "petal" and "li'l" or "petite" and "lily".
