Sigrun is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, who previously appeared as a minor supporting character in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
Background[edit]
Sigrun was one of the main vassals of Sanaki, Begnion's apostle and empress, and Sigrun was also the commander of the Holy Pegasus Knights, with her deputy commander being Tanith. Sigrun was known for her kindness, which was emphasized by how merciless Tanith was in contrast. Sigrun was deathly loyal to her apostle, and she also thought highly of Sanaki's other vassal, Sephiran.
In Path of Radiance, she was first seen in "Chapter 13: A Guiding Wind", when her troop was caught up battling ravens from Kilvas while beorc pirates (who were in fact undercover soldiers from Daein) attacked the ship containing the apostle. Sigrun dealt with the ravens and returned to the ship in time to drive the remaining Daein soldiers away. After they returned to Begnion, Sigrun appeared before Ike and the Greil Mercenaries several times to assign them missions from the apostle. She also advised them about the troubles they would encounter in the desert in "Cahpter 15: The Feral Frontier". She also brought the Holy Guard towards Serenes Forest during the search for Oliver and Reyson, and she was moved almost to tears by Sanaki's apology to the herons, although she was at first shocked that the apostle would bow before another for apology.
Three years later in Radiant Dawn, Sigrun faced hardship after the senate took control of Begnion by having Sephiran imprisoned under false charges of treason and secretly locking Sanaki away as well. Sigrun was told that the apostle was ill and had gone into seclusion and would see no one, and Sigrun's attempts to find Sanaki's true location failed. Thus, in "Chapter 5: Retreat!" of "Part 3: Intersecting Vows", Sigrun was sent to inform General Zelgius of the senate's repealing of Zelgius's cease-fire treaty with the Laguz Alliance and to order the complete extermination of the laguz race. Sigrun lingered for some time outside of Castle Gaddos beforehand. At one point Janaff found her and attempted to get information out of her, but she remained silent and warned him to leave. Sigrun then delivered the message to Zelgius and urged him to comply in order to protect their friends.
Their fortuen than changed when they found Sanaki, whom had escaped the senate's grasp on her own, and took her to the camp of the Begnion Central Army at the end of "Chapter 10: The Heart of Crimea", just in time to save Zelgius from being executed by Senator Valtome. Then in "Chapter 11: Just Cause", Sanaki's Begnion forces merged with the Laguz Alliance Army to fight against the portion of Begnion controlled by the senate, as well as Daein. Sigrun presented Ike with Ragnell, and in that chapter's base conversation she also provided funds for the army and told him she looked forward to seeing how he had improved since the Mad King's War. Sigrun then joined in on the following battle.
In "Part 4: Of Gods and Men", Sigrun was assigned to the Silver Army. She continued to provide advice for Sanaki and also gave her the Bolganone magic tome in the "Necessities" base conversation of "Chapter 3: Distortions". However, Sigrun disapproved of Sanaki entering battle both because of how dangerous it was and how undignified it was for the leader of a nation.
After the war ended, it was said that Sigrun continued to protect Sanaki for her entire life, and she was loved by her subordinates for her kindness.
