Wigglytuff is the rabbit-like evolved form of Jigglypuff that is featured in the first generation Pokémon games.

Information[edit]

Wigglytuff evolves from Jigglypuff when exposed to a Moon Stone. It has a soft and rubbery body that is full of elasticity. When angered, it will suck in air in order to inflate to an enormous size and Body Slam the offender. It is apparently capable of limitless expansion. It is also covered in fine, fluffy fur which feels good enough that people who touch them find it difficult to stop feeling them, and two Wigglytuff that snuggle together would not want to be separated.

They also have large eyes that are always covered with a thin layer of tears. This prevents dust from getting caught in Wigglytuff's eyes, as it will simply be washed away.

Gen Game Pokédex entry

Blue
Yellow Its body is full of elasticity. By inhaling deeply, it can continue to inflate itself without limit.

Silver It has a very fine fur. Take care not to make it angry, or it may inflate steadily and hit with a Body Slam.
Crystal The rich, fluffy fur that covers its body feels so good that anyone who feels it can't stop touching it.
III Ruby Wigglytuff has large, saucerlike eyes. The surfaces of its eyes are always covered with a thin layer of tears. If any dust gets in this Pokémon's eyes, it is quickly washed away.

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Yellow Version, Wigglytuff could be won as a prize at the Celadon Game Corner for 2680 coins. In all other color versions, it could only be obtained through evolution.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Pinball as well as Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, Wigglytuff can only be obtained by evolving a Jigglypuff. In Pokémon Trozei!, it could be found at Huge Storage 4, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, Wigglytuff could only be obtained through evolution. A non-playable Wigglytuff also appeared at Pokémon Square and sold Friend Areas. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Wigglytuff could be found at the first nineteen basement floors of Marine Resort. This game also featured a non-playable Wigglytuff who acted as the head of Treasure Town's primary guild, the Wigglytuff Guild, who is powerful and respected by many.

Wigglytuff appeared at Almia Castle in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. In Pokémon Rumble, Wigglytuff could be found at the Silent Forest.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • One episode of the Pokémon anime's first series featured a Wigglytuff actress acting alongside Misty's Psyduck in a Pokémon movie. During the Battle Frontier episodes, Harley was also shown to own a particularly evil-looking Wigglytuff which he used once in the Kanto Grand Festival. Guild Master Wigglytuff also appeared in Explorers of Darkness and Time tie-in special.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Green's Jigglypuff evolved into Wigglytuff during the FireRed/LeafGreen arc. It is part of her primary team, as it had been her companion since childhood as Jigglypuff.

Trivia[edit]

  • Wigglytuff's name is a simple combination of "wiggly" and "tuff" (as a play on "tough").
