Pico is a pilot featured in the F-Zero series and one of the four original racers. He is notable for being the first non-human racer to appear in the games.

Background

Before becoming a pilot, Pico was a special unit in the Poripoto army that regularly carried out dangerous missions. Although he can seem aggressive, he's smart enough to get the job done and not let his anger get the better of him. He worked at a hitman until his retirement, where he then opened a small shop near the military base.

Afterwards he became a pilot in the F-Zero Grand Prix, racing along with Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh, and Dr. Stewart. It is commonly believed that the big accident that suspended the Grand Prix was caused by Pico, making him very unpopular with fellow racers and enthusiasts. Despite this he continued to race when the Grand Prix was opened again, still racing as recklessly as he did before.

In the anime-inspired games F-Zero: GP Legend and Climax, Pico is an ex-military pilot that works with Dark Million to carry out dangerous missions.

The Wild Goose was previously a military vehicle used in the Death Window, an elite fighting unit of the Poripoto Military. After Pico retired from service, he had the Wild Goose converted for use in racing. Because of its military usage, it has a resistant hull that works well for Pico's reckless driving. It's weak acceleration and below-average drift makes cutting corners difficult.
