Relicanth is an ancient fish-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It has no evolutionary line.
Information[edit]
Relicanth is a rare species that was discovered in deepsea explorations and has existed for a hundred million years without changing its form. The bodies of Relicanth are covered in tough scales which resemble craggy rocks, and their bodies can withstand the extreme pressure of the ocean depths. Relicanth also uses his pectoral fins to walk on the seafloor. It has a toothless mouth which it uses to feed on microorganisms.

Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire' and Emerald Versions, Relicanth rarely appeared at the ocean floor at Routes 124 and 126. The player would need to have a Relicanth at the head of their party (and a Wailord at the back) in order to reach the legendary golem Pokémon (Regirock, Registeel and Regice).
In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, it could be rarely fished with the Super Rod at Route 226. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it could be fished at Route 12 and would appear there during swarms. In Black and White, it could be commonly fished in rippling water at Route 4.
