Totodile is one of the three starter Pokémon from the second generation Gold, Silver and Crystal Versions, as well as the HeartGold and SoulSilver remakes. It is the first in a three-step evolutionary line, with its evolved forms being Croconaw and Feraligatr.
Information[edit]
Totodile is a small blue alligator-like Pokémon. Despite its size, it was known for being quite tough and most would bite anything that moves. Even its trainer needs to be careful. A Totodile's teeth are well-developed and capable of crushing anything. Even when it thinks that it is playfully nipping at something, a Totodile is in danger of causing serious injury.
Totodile evolves into Croconaw at Level 18.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Totodile appears as one of the three starter Pokémon offered to the player by Professor Elm in the beginning of Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver.
In Pokémon: Emerald Version, Professor Birch will present the same offer to Brendan/May upon the player's completion of the Hoenn Pokédex.
Other Games[edit]
Totodile was featured as one of the playable avatars in Pokémon Puzzle Challenge. It appeared in the e-Reader minigames "Sneak and Snatch" (where the player controlled a Sudowoodo trying to steal its fruit, with the Totodile Water Gunning it if caught) and "Wooper's Juggling Game" (where it was one of the Pokémon that Wooper kept in the air). In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, a Totodile could be won as a prize for defeating 100 trainers in Mt. Battle. Similarly, it could be bred from Croconaw after it was snagged and purified in Pokémon Colosseum. In both these instances, it could be traded to the Gameboy Advance Pokémon color versions afterwards. In Pokémon Channel, Totodile could be found in the Front Yard at any time of day during rainy weather.
In Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, it could randomly appear on the Ruby Field (but cannot evolve). In Pokémon Trozei!, Totodile can be obtained at Phobos Sub, Endless Level 32, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams as well as Explorers of Darkness and Time, Totodile is one of the starter Pokémon whom the player might be transformed into during the game depending on the personality quiz answers. Wild Totodile could also be found in the sixth through eleventh floors of Wyvern Hall and sixth through tenth floors of Waterfall Pond in the first games, as well as in the first twenty-four basement levels of End Lake in the latter games.
Totodile could also be found in the Underground Waterways in Pokémon Ranger. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it could be found at Rand's House. Totodile also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Beach Zone. In Pokémon Rumble Blast, it was found at the Desolated Ruins.
