Emboar is a large pig-like Pokémon introduced in the fifth generation games as the third final stage of Tepig's evolutionary line.

Information

Emboar evolves from Pignite at Level 36. It becomes much larger and most noticeably grows a beard of fire. It is a fierce Pokémon that has mastered fast and powerful fighting moves. Emboar is able to throw fire punches by lighting its fists on fire with its flaming beard. Despite its intimidating appearance, Emboar are known to care deeply for their friends.

Emboar can only be obtained by evolving a Pignite.

Other Games

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Emboar appeared as the boss for the magma area of World Axle on its first basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, it acted as the Area Keeper for the Crag Area and resided at Rockridge Fort. Emboar could be befriended following the game's completion by defeating it in battle.

• In the Pokémon anime, Emboar was first shown in both versions of the fourteenth movie belonging to a trainer named Tatsuki who competed in a tournament. This Emboar won a match with Iris (only because she was disqualified as a result of Emolga's disobedience) but was defeated by Ash with his Oshawott.

Trivia

• Its name is a play on "ember" (a type of fire as well as the namesake for a basic Fire-type move) combined with "boar" (which refers to a type of pig).
