Pidgey are small and docile birds that are commonly found in forests and woods. They prefer to kick up sand by flapping its wings at ground level to protect itself rather than using straightforward attacks. They try to avoid battle as much as possible and will blow small or weak enemies away with Whirlwind. They also stir up dust clouds to drive insect prey out into the open; it likely eats some Bug-type Pokémon as well, as its evolved forms are said to.

 +
It is also known for its sharp sense of direction, as this bird is said to be capable of finding its way back to its nest no matter how far away it is from normal surroundings. Pidgey evolves into [[Pidgeotto]] at Level 16 and from there to [[Pidgeot]] at Level 38.
