Togekiss is a serene flying Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It was introduced as the new evolved form for the second generation Pokémon Togetic, which retroactively makes it the third and final form in Togepi's evolutionary line.

Information[edit]

Togekiss evolves from a Togetic that has been exposed to a Shiny Stone. It is much more birdlike in that its arms and wings become one, and it is covered in feathers. Togekiss often visit peaceful regions and bring gifts of kindness and sweet gifts, but they never appear where there is strife. They have been known to share their blessings with those who respect one another's rights and avoid needless strife. However, Togekiss sightings have become rare recently.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Togekiss could be recruited at the Sky Stairway. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it was found at Altru Tower. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found in the Sky and at the Light Temple. In Pokémon Rumble, it appeared in Windy Prairie. Togekiss also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Granite Zone.

Other Appearances[edit]

In Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Togekiss appeared late in the Sinnoh series where it belonged to Princess Salvia, who temporarily switched places with Dawn. Salvia gave Dawn her Togekiss afterwards so that it could continue to compete in contests. Dawn trained Togekiss for the Grand Festival, although it and Piplup lost the final. The Togekiss was known for its motherly behavior, particularly towards Piplup, whom it protected from the misfired Draco Meteors of Ash's Gible.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Togekiss was shown as part of Dahlia's team during the Platinum arc. It was temporarily used by Platina for her battle with Dahlia, as the Battle Arcade's roulette called for them to switch teams. Gold's Togetic also evolved into a Togekiss during the Heartgold/SoulSilver arc.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a combination of "toge" (which means spike and was used in the names of the rest of the evolutionary line) with "kiss" (likely due to its peaceful nature).
