In Pokémon: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pokémon: Gold, Silver, Crystal, FireRed and LeafGreen Versions, Diglett are commonly found in the Diglett's Cave.

In Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Versions, Diglett can be found rarely on Route 228.

Other Games

In Pokémon Pinball, Diglett can be found in the Rock Mountain. In Pokémon Snap, Diglett are found in the Tunnel area. Diglett also appear in Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. In Pokémon Stadium, Diglett are featured in the Ekans' Hoop Hurl minigame, where the player most toss Ekans shaped into hoops over Diglett that will pop up randomly throughout the area.

In Pokémon Channel, Diglett can be found in the Backyard on clear mornings. In Pokémon Trozei!, Diglett are obtained at the Phobos Drill, Endless Level 20, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Diglett can be recruited at the first seven floors of the Southern Cavern or the fourth through sixth floors of the Joyous Tower. An NPC Diglett must also be rescued from Mt. Steel in the third story mission, and is shown to admire its father, a Dugtrio. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and Time, Diglett are found in the first nine floors of the Shimmer Desert, and an NPC Diglett appears as part of the Wigglytuff Guild specializing in sentry duty and examining visitors' footprints. In Pokémon Ranger, Diglett can be caught in the Krokka Tunnel.

Other Appearances

  • Diglett are featured in an episode of the Pokémon anime where they interfere with a construction crew's attempt to build a dam. Various trainers are called in to exterminate them by the foremen, but their Pokémon refuse to fight the Diglett when they see the Diglett are only trying to preserve their environment, which leads the construction company to back down. In a later epsiode, a Diglett Rancher named Poncho appears, and he uses Diglett to successfully corral some Electrode that had been causing trouble in the city to an open field.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Red catches a Diglett after accidentally switching Pokémon with Green, although he has rarely been shown using it.
