Absol' is a disaster-predicting quadrupedal Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It has no evolutionary line.
Information
Absol is a Pokémon that can uniquely predict natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes. These preidictions originate from Absol's capability of sensing subtle changes in the sky and land, and it is said to sense the oncoming disasters with the horn on its head. Absol appear before people after predicting disaster in an attempt to warn them. However, people usually misunderstand and think of it as a doom-bringer, which has led to Absol being referred to as the disaster Pokémon.
Absol have also been targeted by people due to the rumors of their abilities. Because of this, they primarily live in seclusion in harsh and rugged mountain environments. Absol will very rarely travel down from the mountains, usually only after predicting a disaster. Absol has a long life span of over one hundred years.

Other Appearances
Other Media
- In the Pokémon anime, Absol first appeared during the ninth movie, where it helped Jirachi. One episode of the Hoenn series also featured Ash's group investigating when a town was blaming Absol for their problems, and it turned out that Absol was warning them of a coming flood. Drew also caught one that he used for the Kanto Grand Festival in the Battle Frontier series, and during the Sinnoh series Ash's group saved an Absol from Pokémon Hunter J before returning it to its trainer.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Absol made several appearances in the Ruby/Sapphire arc and was once more associated with disaster. The reporters Gabby and Ty met Absol during the arc's climax. Ty was suspicious of it, but Gabby guessed at the true nature of the Pokémon and befriended it. This caused Absol to let them ride it, and it protected them while the battles were raging around them. Absol also saved Ruby and Sapphire with a Magic Goat, although Gabby came to the conclusion that Absol's role was ultimately that of neutrality.
