Gliscor is swift and deadly bat-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It acts as the new evolved form for the second generation Pokémon Gligar, which previously had no evolutionary line.

Information

A Gligar will evolve into a Gliscor when it levels up while holding a Razor Fang at night only. Gliscor usually hang inverted from branches and observe prey while waiting for the perfect chance to swoop. Gliscor can fly soundlessly and carry off prey using its lengthy tail. It also has elongated fangs which are perfect for consuming the prey. Gliscor is apparently capable circling the globe without flapping its wings once if it catches even a faint wind properly.

Gliscor originally could be be obtained only by evolving a Gligar. In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Gligar rarely appeared in rustling grass at Routes 11 and 15.

Other Games

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Gliscor could be recruited at Mt. Mistral. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Gliscor appeared at Oil Field Hideout as a boss during a mission. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Layuda Island, Sky Fortress and the Dark Temple. In Pokémon Rumble, it appeared at Eternal Tower. Gliscor also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Haunted Zone.

• In the Pokémon anime, a Gliscor was featured in one episode of the Sinnoh series where it accidentally began damaging a city after being trapped there by a windstorm and wound up attracting a pack of Gligar before being caught by Paul. Ash caught a Gligar in the same episode, and it evolved into a Gliscor not long afterwards with the help of a Razor Fang provided by Gary. It was still sensitive as it had been as a Gligar, but it was capable in most of Ash's battle and fought Paul's Gliscor in one episode. Paul's Gliscor won but did not appear much afterwards. Ash sent his Gliscor to train with a skilled trainer named McCann later on, but he brought it back for the Lily of the Valley Conference. It is unknown whether it went to McCann or Professor Oak's lab afterwards. Gliscor have also made minor appearances, and one was shown in Bertha's team during her appearance.
• In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Gliscor was featured in a chapter of the Diamond/Pearl arc where Diamond had to battle a wild Gliscor that had intruded at Eldritch's ship at night while he was on his way to Iron Island, and after a tedious battle he was able to defeat it.

Trivia

• Gliscor's name is combined from the beginnings of "glide" (because of its gliding ability) with "scorpion" (due to its scorpion-like physical attributes)
