Ross is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and one of the three trainee units in the game.

Background

As the son of the famous former general Garcia of Renais, Ross always looked up to his father and strove to be liked him. His mother, Risa, fell ill while he was still very young. She died while Garcia was away and when at last the general returned, he met the son that his wife had left behind. From that day on, Garcia vowed to stop fighting and to make sure he raised Ross as a true father. Though Garcia adopted a more peaceful lifestyle, Ross became an axeman like his father and did everything he could to emulate him with the hope of one day living up to his family name.

When Renais was defeated by Grado, a band of bandits led by Bone destroyed their village, Ide. Ross and Garcia were able to escape, but were surrounded by bandits and Ross was lightly wounded during the escape. However they were rescued when Princess Eirika arrived and commanded Vanessa to carry Ross away from the action. Afterward one of Eirika's knights, Seth, recognized and tried to convince him to join their fight against Grado. Though Garcia refused to do so because of what happened to his wife, Ross declared that even if his father wouldn't fight, that he would anyways. His drive convinced Garcia to also join Eirika's army and the two fought alongside her and Ephraim until the war's conclusion.

Possible Fates

Ross has two different endings, depending on whether he reaches A-Support with Amelia or Garcia.

  • Default Ending - After the war, Ross returned to the village of Ide and helped to rebuild it. A few years later, he set out on a journey to perfect his fighting skills while honing his body and spirit.
  • Ross and Amelia Ending - Ross brought Amelia to his hometown and eventually she decided to stay. As time went on, the two eventually fell in love and were married. They would later have a son that grew up to be a great warrior like Ross, eventually surpassing him.
  • Ross and Garcia Ending - With the war over, Ross and his father returned to Ide. Together they helped to rebuild the village and over time Ross grew to become a greater warrior than his father. Eventually Ross had a son that carried on the family legacy.

Support Conversation Summaries

Ross is capable of support conversations with five other characters.

  • Garcia -
  • Lute -
  • Amelia -
  • Ewan -
  • Gerik - In their first conversation, Ross approaches Gerik hoping that the mercenary would teach him a few skills, explaining that he wants to be able to live up to the title of 'Son of Garcia'. Later Ross asks Gerik if he's ever been on a sea voyage and Gerik explains that when he went that the sea sickness was more brutal than the enemies they went to face. When Ross asks how he should become stronger, Gerik replies that it's all in the mind. Ross realizes that by thinking it was impossible to beat Gerik in a duel, he had been setting himself up for defeat. In their last conversation, Ross asks Gerik why the sword is stronger than the axe, explaining that he would like to be able to shatter a silver sword with an iron axe. Gerik relates to him when he first met Garcia in battle and how he had been so intimidated that he lost the duel as a result. Ross is emboldened and declares that he's not just the son of Garcia, but also the best student of Gerik.
