Ledyba is a ladybug-like Pokémon that was introduced in the second generation games. Its evolved form is Ledian.

Information

Ledyba is a very timid Pokémon that is usually afraid to move when alone. Ledyba become more active when working in groups. They particularly come together during cold weather in order to warm each other. Ledyba secretes an aromatic fluid from where its legs join its body which is used to communicate with others. They alter the fluid's scent in order to communicate with others.

It evolves into Ledian at Level 18.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Silver, Crystal and HeartGold and SoulSilver, they were commonly found on Routes 2, 30, 31 and 37. In Crystal, they also appeared at Route 36 and could be found by headbutting trees at Routes 33 and 42, Azalea Town and National Park, and in SoulSilver they could appear when trees in any area were headbutted. In all second generation games, they appeared only during the daytime and could only be found at all times of day from the headbutted trees.

In FireRed and LeafGreen, they appeared at Pattern Bush, being more common in LeafGreen and rare in FireRed. In Emerald, it was uncommonly found at the Safari Zone's extension.

Other Games

A Shadow Ledyba could be snagged from Casual Guy Kyle at Gateon Port in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, and after being purified it could be transferred to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Channel, Ledyba appeared at the Back Yard at all times of day but only during clear weather. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Secret Storage 4, Secret Storage 17, Endless Level 2 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it could be recruited at the seventh through tenth floors of Sinister Woods, the first six floors of Pitfall Valley, the twenty-second through twenty-fifth floors of Joyous Tower and the first six basement floors of Remains Island.

In Explorers of Time and Darkness, it could be recruited at the first nine floors of Mt. Travail and the first twenty-one basement floors of Midnight Forest, and a non-playable Ledyba also appeared as a member of Team Glee. Ledyba also appeared in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs at Latolato Trail. In Pokémon Rumble Blast, it was found at Soothing Shore.
