Background
The daughter of Mason Summer, the inventor of the G-Diffuser anti-gravity system, Jody was always an active girl. When she was only 14, she competed against men and women twice her age and took 4th place in the dodecathalon of the Galactic Games. When she was sixteen she was the third person to ski across the Delaney Ice Plateau on Europe Prime. When was was 18, she became the second person to climb the Olympus Mons on Mars, the highest mountain in the solar system. To top it all off, she became one of the Galactic Federation's top combat pilots and chosen as a spokesperson of the Federation.
She had started to train for the F-Zero Grand Prix when she received word that her father, Mason Sumer, had died when his ship crashed during a fight to the Leonid System. She resolved to race in her father's honor and named her ship the "White Cat", the nickname her father used to call her. She often races with John Tanaka, who has taken it upon himself to protect her - though she wishes he would leave her alone. Despite her inexperience, she has shown an incredible ability to control speed that has earned her a number of rivals already.
For this reason, during her second Grand Prix she was involved in an accident thanks to Black Shadow as seen in the Story Mode of F-Zero GX.. Fortunately Captain Falcon showed up in time to escort her out of a building before it collapsed on her, reuniting her with John Tanaka who brought her home safely. Her bonus movie for this game is Jody Summer's Cosmic Dance, where she dances with a baton that ultimately hits her on the head. She is also seen on a date with Captain Falcon in Jon Tanaka's bonus movie.
GP Legend
Within the anime-inspired games F-Zero GP Legend and F-Zero Climax, Jody Summer is the leader of the Mobile Task Force. She works with Dr. Stewart, Jack Levin and newcomer Rick Wheeler in apprehending criminals at F-Zero races. Her brother Andy was believed dead but as shown in the anime and hinted at in the game, he actually survived and became Captain Falcon.
In her story of GP Legend, she first races Michael Chain in order to interrogate him about his schemes at Silence, but he throws her off by saying that Blood Falcon knows a secret about her murdered brother (likely that he was cloned from him). She then illegally entered a race in Port Town in order to catch Blood Falcon and chased him down, but he lured her into a trap in a warehouse. Rick was able to save her, but Jody then reprimanded him for disobeying orders in order to catch Zoda, but she then allowed him to go catch Zoda so that he could focus on his duties afterwards.
At Mute City, Jack and Dr. Stewart than accused Jody of holding her personal vendetta over her duties in the same way Rick did. Jack suggested that Jody race the whole platoon and if she won she could hunt down Blood Falcon as she saw fit. Jody ultimately did win and then was visited by Captain Falcon, who offered to help her to defeat Blood Falcon. They then raced him in the Sand Ocean. Blood Falcon was defeated but escaped, and though Jody did not find out any secrets about her brother she took comfort in having been able to beat Blood Falcon in a race.
