Scolipede is an aggressive and poisonous segmented insect Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the third and final stage in Venipede's evolutionary line.
Information
Scolipede evolves from Whirlipede at Level 30. They are speedy insects which chase down foes and attack them relentlessly. Scolipede attacks with its sharp horns, and it uses the claws near its neck to dig into opponents to poison them.
Appearances
Mainstream Games
Scolipede has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving a Whirlipede.
Other Appearances
Other Media
- In the Pokémon anime, Scolipede was first shown in one episode where Iris's Axew accidentally disturbed one, prompting it to go on a rampage. It was eventually quieted when her Excadrill defeated it.
Trivia
- Scolipede's name is a combination of "Scolopendra" (a genus of centipedes) and "centipede" or "millipede".
