Venipede is a poisonous centipede-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the first in a three-step evolutionary line, with its evolved forms being Whirlipede and Scolipede.
Information[edit]
Venipede has feels on its head and tail which it uses to explore its surroundings. It is a brutally aggressive Pokémon despite its small size. Venipede's bite contains a poison which is potent enough to paralyze large bird Pokémon which try to prey on it.
Venipede evolves into Whirlipede at Level 22.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Venipede uncommonly appears at Pinwheel Forest and Lostlorn Forest.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Rumble Blast, it was found at the treetops and field areas of Sun-Dappled Bank. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, it appeared at the Verdant Court in the Arbor Area and could be befriended through battle.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, one episode during the Unova series featured Castelia City suffering from a Venipede infestation. The mayor as well as Trip seek ways to remove the Venipede by force, but Burgh seeks a more peaceful way to dispose of them. He ultimately succeeds in luring the Venipede out of the city using an ocarina.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Venipede was shown as one of Burgh's Pokémon during the Black/White arc. It was not seen in action and usually perched itself on Burgh's shoulder.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a combination of "venom" and "centipede" or "millipede".
