Swanna is a swan-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the evolved form of Ducklett.

Information

Swanna evolves from Ducklett at Level 35. Their bills can deliver sharp and powerful pecks to enemies. It whips its long neck around in order to deliver forceful repeated strikes. Swanna usually start dancing at dusk. The one dancing in the center of the flock is usually the flock's leader.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Swanna could appear in the shadows of flying Pokémon that occasionally appeared on the Marvelous Bridge. Although they are the only Pokémon appearing there through that method, there is also a high chance of finding an item in the shadow instead.

Other Appearances

Other Media

  • In the Pokémon anime, a flock of Swanna appeared in the first episode of the Unova series. One episode later on also had an Officer Jenny who owned a Swanna.

Trivia

  • Its name is a simple play on swan. Ducklett and Swanna both seem to be inspired by the folk tale of the ugly duckling that grows into a swan, and Swanna's design and some characteristics (particularly the penchant for dancing) seem to be inspired by the ballet Swan Lake.
