Ducklett is a small duck-type Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. Its evolved form is Swanna.

Information[edit]

They are bird Pokémon that are known for being excellent divers. Ducklett usually swim around in the water and eat their favorite food, wheat moss. When under attack, they use their feathers to splash water so that they could escape under the cover of spray. It evolves into Swanna at Level 35.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Ducklett had a chance of appearing in the rarely appearing shadow of a flying Pokémon on Driftveil Drawbridge. It was the only Pokémon that could be found in that area through that method, but there was also a chance of items appearing in the shadows instead.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, it was found at the beach and field areas of Seabreeze Trail as well as the beach areas of Challenger's Ground and World Axle's first basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond. Ducklett appeared at a hidden spring in the Arbor Area's Verdant Court. Dugtrio brings the player there after being befriended, and the Ducklett could be befriended through a chase.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, one episode during the Unova series featured a trio of Ducklett thieves that stole items such as Ash's hat and the sunglasses of the sunglasses of a Sandile that was following Ash's group. At the end of the episode, Ash's Pikachu was able to send them all blasting off, and they retrieved their items. Other Ducklett have appeared in minor roles, including one episode where a trainer used a sunglasses-wearing Ducklett for criminal purposes, and they were foiled by Accelguard.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, a Ducklett made a small appearance in a chapter of the Black/White arc, where a trainer released a Ducklett that he had owned for years after hearing Ghetsis's speech Pokémon liberation.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a simple combination of "duck" with the suffix "-lett" (meaning young and small) and acts as a substitute for "duckling". Its evolutionary line seems to be based on the folk tale of the ugly duckling that turns into a swan.
