Ninjask is a speedy flying insect-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Nincada, while the Nincada's unused shell also becomes a Shedinja.
Information[edit]
Ninjask evolves from Nincada at Level 20. At this point, the unused shell of the Nincada also seems to become a Shedinja in the process if the player has an extra Poké Ball and an empty slot in their party. They move around at high enough speeds that people usually cannot see them, Even hearing Ninjask's cry cannot help someone to locate one, and because of this it was long believed to be invisible. Ninjask will refuse to obey its trainer and continuously cry loudly if it is not trained properly (although this does not actually happen ingame). Because of this, Ninjask is said to be among the Pokémon that tests a trainer's skill the most.
Ninjask's cries can eventually cause headaches. It is said to be able to avoid any attack. They are known to congregate around tree sap, which they love to eat.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Ninjask has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained through evolution.
Other Games[edit]
It could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Secret Storage 12, Endless Level 21, Forever Level 21 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Ranger, it was found at Lyra Forest. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Ninjask could be recruited at the fifth through tenth basement floors of Quicksand Pit. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it was found at Chroma Road.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, a villain in a two-part episode of the Hoenn series called Colonel Hansen had a Shedinja as his main Pokémon backed up by two Ninjask. Brandon also used a Ninjask for his rematch against Ash during the Battle Frontier series. In the Sinnoh series, Paul was shown to have caught a Ninjask at one point and wound up using it during his final battle against Ash at the Lily of the Valley Conference. It fought off Ash's Gliscor but was defeated by his Infernape. They have also made several other minor appearances.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga Amber's Nincada (which was given to him by Shelly) evolved into a Ninjask while fighting Wattson during the climax of the Ruby/Sapphire arc. Wattson's Manectric was still able to defeat it, although the newly-formed Shedinja wound up being Amber's ace in the hole.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a combination of "ninja" (likely due to its swift movements) with "mask" (due to its face resembling a mask).
- Ninjask is known as the fastest non-legendary Pokémon.
