Manectric is an electric-maned dog-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Electrike.
Information[edit]
Electrike evolves into Manectric at Level 26. It has a pointed mane through which it constantly discharges electricity. The mane collects electricity in the atmosphere and also creates thunderclouds above its head. Lightning usually falls in their vicinities, so it is believed that Manectric was actually born from lightning. They usually nest where lightning has fallen and rarely appear before people. Manectric's sparks sometimes start forest fires.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions, Manectric was uncommonly found at Route 118. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it could appear at the Safari Zone's Plains, Rocky Beach and Wasteland areas if enough Plains or Forest objects were present.
Other Games[edit]
A Shadow Manectric could be snagged from Eldes at Citadark Isle, and after being purified it could be traded to any of the third generation color versions. Manectric could only be obtained by evolving an Electrike in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire as well as in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams and Explorers of Time and Darkness. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Endless Level 51, Endless Level 57, Forever Level 1 and Mr. Who's Den, and it was featured as one of Lucy Fleetfoot's two Pokémon. in Pokémon Ranger, it was found at Olive Jungle and Jungle Relic. In Explorers, a Manectric leading a tribe of eight Electrike appeared as the boss of the Amp Plains in place of the Luxray leading the Luxio Tribe in Explorers. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Layuda Isle and the Thunder Temple.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, Wattson's Electrike evolved into Manectric in an episode of the Hoenn series following a battle with Team Rocket. Wattson tested it out in a training battle with Ash, which the Manectric was able to win. A Sinnoh episode also had a Manectric which evolved from an Electrike to escape from Team Rocket. The Manectric had been training under Jaco and was able to graduate from the Training Center as a Manectric, at which point it was able to work at an electrical generator.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Wattson's Electrike evolved into a Manectric at some point in the Diamond/Pearl arc following the events at New Mauville, and he was able to use it for transportation. Wattson used it for the duration of the arc, and it later knocked itself out in battle with Amber's Ninjask.
Trivia[edit]
