Boldore is a large rock-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the middle form of Roggenrola's evolutionary line, with its evolved form being Gigalith.

Information[edit]

Boldore evolves from Roggenrola at Level 25. It has too much power for its body to contain. This led to the energy leaking and forming orange crystals along its body. The orange crystal on its body glows when it is overflowing with power. Boldore constantly seek underground water in caves for sustenance.

A Boldore evolves into a Gigalith when traded to another trainer.'

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Boldore are commonly found at Chargestone Cave, Mistralton Cave, Twist Mountain, Victory Road, Challenger's Cave and Giant Chasm.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Boldore could be found at the Volcanic Slope's lava area and within the cave area of World Axle's second basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, it appeared at the Colosseum in the Crag Area. To be friend it, it had to be awakened with water and then beaten in a battle.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Ash's Roggenrola evolved into a Boldore during a battle with Clay's Excadrill. With the new moves gained from its evolution (as well as the Sturdy ability), the Boldore was able to overcome and defeat the Excadrill, which earned Ash the Quake Badge. The Boldore remains friendly and affectionate to Ash. Other Boldore have appeared in more minor roles.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a pun on "boulder" combined with "ore".
