Mario Party: The Top 100 is a minigame compilation game that was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. It collected a total of a hundred minigames from the ten numbered installments of the Mario Party subseries.

Gameplay[edit]

Unlike other Mario Party games, this one is focused on playing minigames rather than the board game aspect, with only one of the game's modes utilizing a board. This game contains remakes of minigames from throughout the numbered Mario Party games. Some of them have been changed, such as minigames from earlier games being updated with new graphics.

This game contains several different modes to play the minigames. 100 Minigames is a mode where the minigames can be selected freely; Minigame Island is a single player mode where the player plays minigames to advance along a map and collect Mini Stars; Minigame Match is the only board game mode in which players compete in collecting Stars from Star Balloons, similar to the Balloon Bash mode from Star Rush; and the Championship Battles and Decathlon modes were special minigame competition modes. The game also contained a Collection mode, where the player could view information about the numbered Mario Party titles and their hosts as well as information about this game.

Like other handheld Mario Party games, the game could be played by up to four players over Local or Download Play. It is also compatible with amiibos, which can be scanned to activate special bonuses in the game such as extra lives in Minigame Island.

The game features eight playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi and Rosalina. Donkey Kong and Bowser also appear as rivals in some minigames, while Toad and Toadette are the game's hosts.

Legacy[edit]

Sequels[edit]

The next Mario Party game was Super Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch in 2018.
