Formerly a pirate by trade and surfer by hobby, Drake gave up his days as a buccaneer to serve as the Navy Admiral for Green Earth. During Black Hole's invasion, he communicated with Grit and Sonja concerning the increased tensions between the countries. When Clone Andy attacked Green Earth, he was more suspicious of it than Eagle, who quickly rushed to get his revenge on Andy. His suspicions turned out to be correct when Clone Andy appeared.

During Sturm's second invasion, his skills were put to the test as he twice faced Hawke. Though his first bout with the Black Hole CO had Kanbei at his aid, he was then forced to face his navy against Hawke's air force. His laid back, relaxed way of handling things usually puts him in the middle of Jess and Eagle's arguing, forcing him to be the peace keeper between the two.

During the Bolt Guard's invasion of Omega Land, he stayed behind in Macro Land to protect Green Earth.

Gameplay[edit]

Drake is the game's primary Navy-based unit. Although his land units are all balanced, his Navy units have 120% offense, but at the cost of a 90% powered airforce. When Drake is on a map, it rains more often.

  • Tsunami - Drake's regular CO Power, it damages all enemy units for 1 HP and reduces enemy fuel by half.
  • Typhoon - Drake's Super CO Power, it damages all enemy units for 2 HP and reduces enemy fuel by half. Causes rain to begin to fall.

Trivia[edit]

  • Drake had a design change within the original Advance Wars game. The Japanese version gave him an appearance more fitting of a pirate, as he sported a durag on his head with a blue vest and a cloth belt. His international design changed his appearance to look more like a sailor, with a captain's hat and jacket as well as a proper belt. The international design was retained for the following games.
  • Drake has his ups and downs between the games. In AW2 his defense went down, but his CO power was more powerful. In AW DS, he kinda lost out since rain causes FoW which can be a good or bad thing for Drake.
