Ken Sugimori is a Japanese artist. He is best-known for his work on the Pokémon series.
Biography[edit]
Sugimori was born in Tokyo on January 27, 1966. He became friends with Satoshi Tajiri while working on Game Freak magazine.
When the group became game developers, Sugimori took on the role of art director and character designer. The bulk of Pokémon art is done by him. Je also designed the first 251 Pokémon and the main characters from the first game almost by himself.
Aside from work on the video games, Sugimori also works on the Pokémon Trading Card Game, television series, and some of the movies. He also wrote Pokemon 10th Anniversary Pokedex: Prima Official Game Guide.
