Overview[edit]
A Steam-Powered OG is a story set in the late 19th century. A majority of the main cast hails from Turquoise before Turquoise became a flying island, and have formed the Society of Polite Inquiry to oppose the aggressive expansion of their former penal colony, New Lantis. The intent of the story is to present a Party Goers-esque story set in a primarily steampunk setting. Could also be viewed by some as a sister story to Oregon Goers 48, considering they take place in the same century.
Plot Summary[edit]
References/Homages to Other OGs[edit]
- As with the other expy stories, several characters are either based off of, are actual ancestors to, or are immortal/time-traveling members of the modern day cast.
- Otto has a Scene Setting Servant and a robot butler named Guisseppie, similar in name to Ditto McCloaker's own staff of servants.
- The name of the Society of Polite Inquiry is taken from Final Fantasy OG, where the main characters were generally grouped under Cid's organization--the Grundon Society of Polite Inquiry. The reaper from FFOG also shows up at one point and briefly confuses Samwise for Jeice Apalocks.
- Otto owns a Flying Submarine, which the Society uses to leave Turquoise. Wizzrobe later shows up to point out that this was already done in The Festivity Attenders: Revenge of the T.
