Overview
Gamehiker Member OG III: The Search for Splog was the third installment in the Gamehiker Member OG series and the first to use Roman numerals in the title, in order to commemorate the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. This story focuses on the attempts of the Gamehikers to restore Luiigii to their side, after he had been seduced by Murasame in the prevous OG. One of the fastest-running GMOGs, it ended in only twelve days. It was followed by Gamehiker Member OG IV.
Plot Summary
While on a date with Kuria, Vorpal has a dream flashback recalling their last encounter with Carrotcake King/Roy in the cake factory. Elsewhere on the SS Swordefeller, MJ and Marin convince Masamune to help them look for Splog Goomboy, whom MJ thinks can reach the good in Luiigii. Elsewhere Luiigii and Murasame meet with Murasame's master, Mysterious Silhouette, to discuss evil plans. Eventually Masamune finds Yami Yoshi stowing away on the ship and tosses him overboard, just as GORE-ILLA was climbing the ship to offer his services to Masamune. Yami collides with GORE in midair, causing them both to fall on a nearby desert island. Yami and GORE spend a portion of the story trapped on what is later dubbed GORE-LIGAN's Island, and there they eventually battle the hunter Donkey Congo, a leftover from the previous OG.
While crossing the desert, the Swordefeller is attacked by Murasame and Luiigii. Masamune and Rebe go off to battle them while in the meantime, what appears to be Rebe takes Fred, MJ, Marin and Golem (who got his agent to write him into the story) hostage. Unable to think of any sword fights left to parody, Masamune chooses to shoot Murasame Indiana Jones-style. Murasame passes out and tells Luiigii that he will not awaken until the end of the OG, and to find his own apprentice. Luigi chooses Ashley, his 9-year old daughter who actually hasn't been born yet but is there anyway. Masamune returns to the ship and attacks the false Rebe, who is actually a villain named Caykface. Caykface retreats at the end of the battle, but he also spits a piece of himself into Masamune's mouth, making him sick.
Rebe becomes acting captain while Masamune is lying sick in bed. Luigi and Ashley come to kill Masamune, but they agree to cure him before killing him. They use Ezlo to shrink themselves down and enter Masamune's body. There they inexplicably meet with SteveT, and they eventually confront the villainous Sarugerm, the cause of Masa's illness. Steve grows bored of this plotline and kills Sarugerm himself. Luigi prepares to kill Masamune but ends up killing MJ instead. Luigi, Ashley and Steve then make an escape from the Swordefeller. Kasei of the Blue Flame replaces MJ as the Chosen One with the Star Sword and attempts to pursue Luigi, only to get sucked into a jet engine. The next Chosen One is a woman resembling Ashley whom Marin dubs Mary-Kate. MJ turns out to be alive and reclaims the Star Sword, only to have it stolen by Steve T. Masamune also prepares his own Master Pie to enhance his weapons against cake-based enemies.
In the meantime Roy (still possessed by the Carrotcake King) finally makes his move by sending an army of Caykzors to Cleveland, which is apparently an "odd quirk of his". Vorpal and Kuria are the only nearby people who attempt to fight them off. The Caykzors later betray and overthrow Roy, who crawls away in hopes of being the main villain of the next OG. Yami and GORE escape from the island with the Barely-Flying Monkey-Like Contraption, a device that GORE made using only coconuts. Overwhelmed by the Caykzor forces, they decide to travel back in time with the aid of EVIL Scientist Dude and his Time-Travelling Monkey. EVIL Scientist Dude, GORE and Kuria make a quick trip into the time of Gamehiker Member OG and find the Pie Arrow quickly while Vorpal and Yami distract the Caykzors.
MJ finds what he thinks is Splog, but it is actually the Goombutler, a butler of Luiigii's from a timeline where he is rich. Masamune kicks Goombutler into the sky just for his association with Luiigii. Masa then bullies the Plot Hole into spitting out Slort, Aaron and Dodo at long last. In the meantime Luiigii of the Pipes and Ashley enter the Weirdamonium and from there find the legendary Caykforce, but when Luigi touches it, it splits into three and disperses. Luigi gains the Caykforce of Carrot, Yami Yoshi gets the Caykforce of Cheese, and Golem gets the Caykforce of Chocolate. Soon afterwards, Masamune and Slort confront Luiigii near a volcano. Luigi will no longer listen to even Slort, and he attacks Masamune. The battle soon grows to include Ashley, Steve, Mary-Kate and MJ. MJ gets his Star Sword back from Steve, and Ashley beats up Mary-Kate for looking like her. Ashley is then written out of the story, but Luigi promises to see her again when she is actually born.
Masamune's crew quickly arrives to aid Vorpal's crew in the battle with the Caykzors. Murasame returns as One-Wing Murasame and with a bright light disintegrates all the Caykzors. Murasame grabs Luigi, Golem and Yami, then uses them to summon the full Caykforce. As this happens a storm starts, and the rain revives the Caykzors. EVIL Scientist Dude beats Murasame to the wish, wishing for his own research laboratory, then promptly leaves the story. Golem and Yami Yoshi double-team on Murasame. Most of the other Gamehikers fight off the Caykzors. Steve T and his gang hijack the Swordefeller. Vorpal talks Yami into killing Murasame, which doesn't really matter because Murasame is immortal and can revive himself later. Luigi than enters and attacks Vorpal, who reveals that he was the Mysterious Silhouette all along, and he had created the identity to sabotage the other villains' efforts. In the following Star Wars-based battle, involving Vorpal, Luigi, Yami Yoshi, Golem, Masamune, MJ, Marin, Mary-Kate, Fred and Kuria, not paying any attention to who was good or bad, all of them cut off all of each other's arms and legs. The Caykzors were also destroyed when the OGers fell into them, causing them to overload and explode just like in the first OG. Murasame found the limbless Gamehikers lying there after he revived himself and decided to save his apprentice. But he could not remember which one was his apprentice, so he fixed all their limbs.
The Gamehikers celebrate their partial victory by eating in the same Italian Restaurant when Murasame returns. Luiigii takes on Murasame himself, blaming Murasame for killing the good in him. After a lengthy battle, Masamune arrives to deliver the final blow. He plants his sword, powered by the Master Pie, in Murasame's head. Murasame turns into stone and sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Luiigii is taken to the hospital, where he swears that he is done with being evil and officially joins the Gamehikers.
