Yami Yoshi is the principle main character of the Member OG series.
Background[edit]
Yami Yoshi was abandoned as an egg but was found by the Master Yoshi who was raising Yami Boshi at the time. When the Master paid more attention to Yami Yoshi and started training him, Yami Boshi got jealous. When Yami Yoshi was seven, as part of a tournament, he used an Absorption Egg to counter Yami Boshi's Nuclear Egg, setting off an explosion that seemingly killed Yami Boshi.
Timeline History[edit]
Bad Timeline[edit]
Lupus stole Yami Yoshi's cheesecake in 2003 just before Lupus took over the world and imprisoned Yami Yoshi and those who were part of the OGers at the time. The group was briefly arrested after Lupus took over Japan, but they soon realized that the walls were actually made of paper and they could easily escape. After a long series of adventures, including facing the hollowed shells of the Party Goers, they took out Lupus with an OG Fist and sealed the deal with The Holy Plot Device (Reverb).
A year later, Yami Yoshi's Millenium Egg broke open to free Pharoah Yami Yoshi, an evil entity who had, in ancient Egypt, used Duel Monsters to usurp the throne then keep order as a tyranical ruler. Pharoah Yami Yoshi tried being evil, but with the OG Six around, it was harder than it was in Egypt. Pharoah became a good guy for that reason. Soon after, Yami Yoshi and the other OGers witnessed the embodiment of Evil and died before sealing it away. Sophnito revived everyone. Then, Yami Yoshi and the other OGers helped GORE-ILLA fend off Team Monkey, especially Dark GORE-ILLA, as GORE-ILLA uncovered his past.
The OGers couldn't prevent Akujin and the MPVP from blowing up the Earth, so they traveled through space in order to hunt down the MPVP. Pharoah was killed on Earth, and later was momentarily revived on Krad. Afterwards, Pharoah's soul stayed in Yami Yoshi's body (though Yami Yoshi was still dominant, not the Pharoah). With the aid of Hades, they destroyed Akujin, and due to a wish from Black Skull Dragoshi on The Holy Plot Device (Reverb), Earth was restored.
Yami Yoshi wouldn't have much time to rest on Earth, as Goren stole his cheesecake just as Lupus had. Goren then invited Yami Yoshi and GORE-ILLA to his tournament. The OGers completely screwed up Goren's tournament, even revealing him to be some crazy scientist named Loki with the power to change form depending upon what souls he had, then they killed him. Just as the mansion was being destroyed by forces hostile to Goren, Black Skull Dragoshi fused with The Holy Plot Device (Reverb) and took them to the United States of America. There they took care of Lupus, and in the course of their actions took out Author 9's forces and killed the possessed warrior of wind, Bat-Ear Mirawk.
Then the OGers focused entirely on Lupus, taking out his Cheese Star and leveling his mountain palace. On the Cheese Star, Yami Yoshi became infected with cheese somehow, and gained the ability to manipulate cheese. At this time, Hades also revealed himself to have hidden in Yami Yoshi ever since he destroyed Akujin, so Yami Yoshi realized the power to control heat as well--but not without first going through a struggle over control of his own body with Hades. Before Lupus was taken out, he used the Pearls of Mystery's infinite power source to power the Limitless Drive, an infinite possibility device that allowed him to make the Earth flat--and it stayed flat. This wish wreaked havoc with the order of all things, combining Q-Space with R-Space and S-Space.
Then Yami Yoshi's cheesecake party with the other OGers was interrupted by Eerie's goons. Eerie was taken out for the moment.
Velvet Monkey, who had been the one to possess Bat-Ear, enlisted the OGers (including Yami Yoshi) to help him gather magic stones that would grant access to The Writer's Chair (a sort of The Holy Plot Device [Reverb]) before the crazed Nijuka. Turns out Eerie wasn't dead, or was and this was another Eerie, or--well, it's hard to explain in R-Space terms. Yami Yoshi died in the scuffle after he was impaled by Black Skull Dragoshi, but his corpse was used as a cheese vaccuum to kill Lupus, and the power of his soul as well as Fusion's soul and Black Skull Dragoshi's soul broke through to Eerie's backup universe and allowed Introbulus to destroy it. This undid the mess that Lupus created with the Limitless Drive.
Good Timeline[edit]
Golem stole Yami Yoshi's cheesecake, and Yami Yoshi, along with others, chased Golem to get it back. Yami Yoshi took on a completely robotic GORE-ILLA and accidentally created Caykzor with a Nuclear Egg attack that accidentally hit his own cheesecake. Yami Yoshi and Golem called a truce after they, along with others, defeated Caykzor.
Yami Yoshi played a minor role in the later installments of the Gamehiker Member OG series until he died during a barbecue. GM reanimated his corpse to make him Zambi Yoshi, a zombie.
The "real" Yami Yoshi returns in Gamehiker Member OG VIII: The Final Parody. He explains his resurrection as such:
"It's a simple story, really. You thought you saw me die. At that moment I tumbled down the well Golem-Prime caused a tremor in the universe that reanimated my body while at the same time a cosmic force steadily bathed me in gamma rays. Thus my soul travelled into a robot duplicate, but the robot exploded when it could not understand the meaning of love and left my soul there, fragmented. A Nazi cult ritual then slowly reassembled my soul, which wandered the Earth for a body. As I flew through the Earth's atmosphere a meteor flew threw my soul and landed in that lake, causing it to form a living version of my body. I quickly entered the body, which was preserved in a giant egg at the bottom of the lake until you disturbed my slumber and freed me."
Yami claimed that during this strange journey, he saw an alternate timeline which he saw as a much better place (the Bad Timeline). He then set about on a quest to find a way to undo the Gamehiker Member OG series and bring this alternate timeline into being. In the meantime, Yami Yoshi slowly mutated into a more monstrous form. Zambi Yoshi also appeared in the same OG, and joined a parody version of the OG Six. The real Yami Yoshi ate Zambi and all the other OG Six members except for GORE-ILLA.
Yami bonded with the Black Pudding to become even more feral and powerful later on, but Golem was able to destroy the pudding. After this, Yami allied himself with EVIL Scientist Dude, Lupus, Fred and Roy in a conspiracy to kill Golem in a way that would undo the Good Timeline and replace it with the Bad Timeline. Yami later got into a battle with GORE at Icebergsville and completely destroyed his body. Soon afterwards, EVIL Scientist Dude and his gang were able to destroy the Bad Timeline. Yami Yoshi had stowed a ride aboard Donkeyman's ship, so he survived the destruction.
Yami then escaped the ship without being noticed and traveling to Yoshi's Island, post-Member OG 7. He kidnapped his Bad Time counterpart and attempted to impersonate him. Yami hoped to use his status as the leader of the OGers to make them into his personal army and kill every villain in order to shape it into the perfect timeline. He also sent them after the survivors of the Good Timeline, but eventually the real Yami of the Bad Timeline returned to take his place. Both Yamis were then later teleported to the Neutral Timeline. The demon Yami Yoshi of the Good Timeline tried killing everyone with an Infinity Egg, although Yami and GORE were able to reach out to him.
Soon afterwards, the Good Timeline was restored via the Auto-Alignment Ray, and time was reset to Yami's battle with GORE in Icebergsville. This time GORE won, and Yami's face was scared. He then pulled a Harry Osborn and returned to help GORE fight off with the hideous Rhyk/Roy/Youma Ganon monster. Yami then sacrificed himself to save Golem, Sapphire and GORE by leaping into Youma Ganon's lance. As he laid dying, Yami vomited out an egg which contained his son, Ronnie Yoshi. Golem and GORE paid their respects to their fallen friend, while GORE raised Ronnie as his own.
Neutral Timeline[edit]
He just ate the damn cheesecake. Turns out it wasn't even all that tasty.
Other Appearances[edit]
- Yami appeared in Gamehiker High University originally as a slacker and a friend of Lupus who was considering dropping out of a school like Lupus had. However, an intervention caused Yami to become preppy and nerdy. He now constantly flip flops between being an accomplished student and a ne'er-do-well slacker.
- He appeared in GalaxyHikers OG as the sniper for the GalaxyHiker mercenary group.

Yami Yoshi throws an explosive egg. The explosive magnitude is equivalant to that of a grenade.

Absorption Egg[edit]
Yami Yoshi creates an enormous cracked egg. The explosive magnitude depends on the amount of enery absorbed by the egg's crack.
Nuclear Egg[edit]
Yami Yoshi's most powerful attack (aside from the Absorption Egg after absorbing a large quantity of energy). The explosive magnitude is equivalent to that of an atomic bomb.

A translucent Yoshi Egg surrounds Yami Yoshi and protects him from most enemy attacks (including Akujin's Big Bang).
