Armaldo is a plated fossil Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Anorith.
Information[edit]
Armaldo evolves from Anorith at Level 40. It is a Pokémon species that went extinct in prehistoric times, along with its predecessor. Armaldo went ashore following evolution, as they gained the ability to walk on their hind legs and walk on land. Its armor is tough enough to make all attacks bounce off. Armaldo also has two enormous claws which can be freely extended or contracted, and they have the power to pierce through solid steel as well as most other surfaces. Although they primarily live on land, Armaldo usually dove into the ocean to hunt for prey, using its two large wings to swim around.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Armaldo has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving an Anorith.
Other Games[edit]
Armaldo could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams and Explorers of Time and Darkness. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Endless Level 18, Forever Level 67, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. In Explorers of Sky, an Armaldo appeared in the backstory for one special episode where it acted as a mentor to Wigglytuff when it was an Igglybuff, although Armaldo was later taken away by the authorities due to being an outlaw. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Armaldo was found at Oblivia Ruins and the Ice Temple.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, Armaldo was featured in an episode of the Hoenn series where an Armaldo (evolved from an Anorith that was revived from a Claw Fossil) attacked an island in search of the fruit that it and the other fossil Pokémon had eaten when they were originally alive, and it was also targeted by Team Rocket. Armaldo have made other minor appearances, mostly in the episodes about fossil Pokémon, while during the Sinnoh series it was shown as one of Nando's Pokémon.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Armaldo was shown as one of Mack's Pokémon during the Ruby/'Sapphire arc. He specifically used it for aquatic transportation, although in the games it is actually usually incapable of Surfing or Diving.
