Background[edit]
Glen and Cormag were a pair of brothers who were part of a family of poor farmers living in Grado's countryside. Things changed one day when the emperor's caravan passed through the area, and the two brothers took it upon themselves to drive off a stray dog that was bothering the caravan by pelting it with rocks. They were initially arrested for this, because some of the rocks accidentally hit the soldiers, but Emperor Vigarde was angered by this. He pardoned them and treated them to dinner. Observing their skill with rocks, Vigarde wanted to see how they did with spears instead. Glen and Cormag were thus brought into Grado's imperial army and a more privilaged lifestyle. Being the older brother and an exemplary soldier, he was later promoted to part of the Imperial Three, alongside Valter and his hero Duessel, and he was given the nickname of Sunstone. Valter was later ousted from the three following his psychotic breakdown and was replaced by Selena, and Glen was glad to be rid of Valter. Glen was known for being loyal and courteous, particularly due to how kind Emperor Vigarde was.
He began to doubt his country after the War of the Stones broke out, as Vigarde was suddenly a violent war-monger who gave promotions to the type of people whom Glen did not believe had Grado's best interests at heart. Glen voiced his doubts to Selena and Duessel when the three were called to Grado Castle at the end of "Chapter 3: The Bandits of Borgo", but Selena countered this by reminding him that none of that should matter and that their only priority should be following the emperor's orders. They were then called into their audience with Vigarde, who announced that Valter, Riev and Caellach were being added as generals. Glen objected to Valter's presence, but Duessel calmed him down. Glen and Valter were initially assigned to seek the twin siblings Ephraim and Eirika. Glen passed through Serafew at the beginning of "Chapter 5: The Emperor's Reach", where he told Saar to keep a look-out for either of the twins as well as an escaped traitor who was reported to be in the area. Glen then mused about his doubts of the emperor, but he declined to repeat himself when Cormag wondered what he was saying.
During their next audience with Vigarde in the ninth chapter of both paths, he assigned Glen to search for Eirika while Valter was to hunt Ephraim. Glen only appeared in Eirika's path afterwards. In "Chapter 10: Revolt at Carcino", Vigarde elaborated on his orders to kill the pricness, and Glen set off. He voiced his doubts to Cormag, as he had met Eirika once and knew that she was a kind woman. Valter then showed up to taunt him, as he wanted Eirika for himself. Glen started to tell him off and then had Cormag stand down when he started to support him. He eventually caught up to Eirika's forces in the mountains by Carcino in "Chapter 11: Creeping Darkness" and offered her a chance to explain herself. She and Innes pointed out that all the crimes she had been accused of were falsehoods reported by Grado. Glen also saw that she still was the same kind and merciful woman he remembered despite all the hardship she had gone through. He decided to let them go and then pulled back so that he could question Vigarde about the truth. Glen did not make it far before he was cornered by Valter, who proceeded to kill him in combat.
