Thundurus is a storm-generating legendary Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It and Tornadus are destructive Pokémon that are kept in check by the third part of their trio, Landorus. Out of the former two, Thundurus is exclusive to the White Version.
Information[edit]
Thundurus has spikes on its tail which dispense immense bolts of lightning. They fly freely around the Unova region, firing off lightning bolts and starting storms in their wakes. Thundurus usually leave landscapes behind with countless charred remains.
Thundurus and Tornadus both seem to be antagonistic in nature. It is said that they wreaked havoc on the homes and fields of Unova with their abilities until Landorus stepped in and stopped them.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: White Version, Thundurus first shows up at Route 7 after the player has collected all eight badges and will most likely flee from the first encounter. He then appears throughout Unova as a roaming Pokémon, covering the southern half during daylight and the northern half at night.
Other Appearances[edit]
Video Games[edit]
- In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Thundurus (in his Incarnate Forme) appears as an Ace-rank Support Spirit with the effect of raising move speed. When fought against in a Spirit battle, Thundurus's Spirit would possess Mega Man and focus on using strengthened electrical attacks while fighting over an electrified floor.
Trivia[edit]
- His name is a play on "thunderous".
- Thundurus is based on Raijin, the kami (god) of lightning from Shinto belief.
