Trace is one of the bounty hunters who was featured in Metroid Prime Hunters and among the most combative.

Background

Trace was a member of the Kriken empire, greedy invaders that conquered different worlds to expand their empire. Being only a Kriken youth, he was sent into exile according to a ritual in which he would find a planet for their species to conquer. He traveled to the Alimbic Cluster to not only survey those planets for invasion, but to more importantly find whatever power the Alimbics had and use it to bring power to his species and to himself.

Trace proved a powerful foe in his battles, thanks to his ability to cloak, his dead-on sniping abilities, and his deadly Triskelion form. His quest to unlock the Alimbic's power was constantly foiled by Samus's interference. However, once the Oubliette was opened, he quickly entered and found Gorea waiting. Although he and the other five bounty hunters attempted to defeat the creature, he was easily defeated and his weapon was absorbed. He was, however, able to escape while Samus dealt with Gorea herself.

• In the Super Smash Bros. series, Trace has appeared as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and as a Primary Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. When fought against in Spirit battles, Trace's Spirit possessed Samus and would periodically turn invisible.
