WarioWare: Touched! is the first WarioWare game for the Nintendo DS. Its primary focus was using the stylus to play microgames.

Story[edit]

After stealing a Game Boy Advance and a Game Boy Advance SP, Wario drops both into a sewer. An old man comes up and asks if he dropped the GBA and GBA SP or a Nintendo DS. Wario chooses the fancier looking DS. After learning to how it works, he immediately gets to work on making new games to take advantage of it

Gameplay[edit]

The main part of this game is a series of microgames - super-quick minigames that require split-second timing. The microgames require using the stylus in a multitude of different ways.

In the game you can play the microgames of eight developers as you watch their own seperate stories unfold. Each developer has a different way to play microgames, and these developers are Wario himself (training games), Mona (short cuts), Jimmy T. (rubbing), 9-Volt and new friend 18-Volt (microgames based on classic Nintendo games), Dr. Crygor (circular motion), Kat and Ana (free-scribbling), new developers Ashley (dragging), and Mike (microphone based) and Wario-Man (a mixture of everything used so far). Each developers' "levels" consist of several rounds of random microgames from their respective inventories.

This game introduces Souvenirs. These are toys that are mostly just for fun.

If the game links up to WarioWare: Twisted! then a new souvenir based on Mona's job in that game is unlocked

Trivia[edit]

  • Although in America this was released before Twisted!, in Japan the opposite is true. This would be why the events in Twisted!, such as the introduction of 18-Volt, had already happened by Touched!'.
  • Ashley and Mike, introduced in this game, were the first new developer characters.
  • Although Dribble & Spitz and Orbulon weren't developers in this game, they did get cameo appearance. Dribble & Spitz drop off new characters at the selection screen and make an appearance at the end of Mike's story. Orbulon's ship drops off new souvenirs.

Legacy[edit]

Ports/Remakes[edit]

Sequels[edit]

This game was shortly followed by WarioWare: Twisted!. The next WarioWare to be on the DS would be the 2009 DSiWare release Snapped!, but the next physical release would not be until 2010 with WarioWare: D.I.Y..
