A master list of units featured in the game Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi.

Tier 1 Units[edit]

Lord[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Swords To: Master Lord
FEA-Roy.gif
This is Roy's class, who is the only character who has this class. In this game, he can only use swords. This class is not especially versatile, due to stats that are only above average and a limited move range.
Characters: Roy

Archer[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Bows To: Sniper
FEA-Archer.gif
Archers are non-mounted units that can use Bows and Arrows to attack. They can also man ballistas, which are like mobile long-range bows. Unlike the Nomads, Archers have a higher attack and skill due to their ability to aim from solid ground. As with all bow users, Archers can only attack from a distance. When attacked at close range, Archers cannot counter attack.
Characters: Wolt and Dorothy

Brigand[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Axes To: Berserker
FEA-Brigand.gif
Brigands are axe-users that are effectively a counterpart to Pirates, only they can cross mountains and small amounts of water. This class is usually only used for enemies in subsequent games.
Characters: Gonzales

Cavalier[edit]

From: None Move: 7 Weapons: Swords, Spears To: Paladin
FEA-Cavalier.gif
Cavaliers are versatile characters that are mounted on horses and specialize in spears and swords. This allows them to move great distances, carry most units, and generally be equipped for most types of foes.
Characters: Alan, Lance, Treck, and Noah

Cleric[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Staves To: Bishop
FEA-Cleric.gif
Clerics are the only Tier 1 Units besides Troubadours that can use staves. Unlike most magic, staves have various ability, the most notable being the ability to heal. Other staves such as Sleep, Unlock, Torch, and others can also be used. Because they cannot fight, Clerics level up only by using their staves.
Characters: Ellen and Saul

Fighter[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Axes To: Warrior
FEA-Fighter.gif
Fighters are strong axe-users noted for their high HP and strength. Although they are largely ineffective against sword-users, they are especially effective against Knights and Soldiers.
Characters: Ward and Lot

Knight[edit]

From: None Move: 4 Weapons: Spears To: General
FEA-Knight.gif
Knights are heavy units that wear thick armor that cause weak attacks to bounce off with no damage. The side effect to this armor is that they are slow-moving and it takes longer for these units to reach the battle. If all three knights are deployed, they can perform a triangle attack on enemies.
Characters: Bors, Wendy, and Barth

Mage[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Anima To: Sage
FEA-Mage.gif
Mages are one of the more common magical classes that use the powerful Anima magic. Like all magic-users, magic can be used in close range or long range, making them very versatile when dealing with physical fighters.
Characters: Lugh, Lilina, and Hugh

Mercenary[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Swords To: Hero
FEA-Mercenary.gif
Mercenaries are sword users with good constitution and skill. Their generally high speed makes them good at double attacks, especially against axe-users that are generally slower than Mercenaries.
Characters: Dieck and Oujay

Myrmidon[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Swords To: Swordmaster
FEA-Myrmidon.gif
Myrmidons are sword users who are lightly armored, but are speedy fighters who have a high evasion rate. Because they typically have a high luck, they excel at critical hits. They are the only Tier 1 units who can use katana swords like Wo Dao.
Characters: Rutgar and Fir

Nomad[edit]

From: None Move: 7 Weapons: Bows To: Nomadic Trooper
FEA-Nomad.gif
Nomads are mounted units that grow up learning to ride horses to the point they can fire arrows with precision from atop their mounts. Although they are not as strong as archers, Nomads tend to be quicker and able to use their higher movement to attack and retreat. As with all bow users, Nomads cannot counter against close range attacks.
Characters: Sue and Shin

Pegasus Knight[edit]

From: None Move: 7 Weapons: Spears To: Berserker
FEA-PegKnight.gif
Pegasus Knights are special units that ride flying Pegasii that allow them to effortlessly fly over any obstacle. Although they are not especially strong, they have strong resistance to magic and are ideal for transporting units. However Pegasus Knights are especially weak to archers and can be quickly shot down. When all three are used together, they can perform a triangle attack.
Characters: Thany, Thito, and Yuno

Pirate[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Axe To: Berserker
FEA-Pirate.gif
Pirates are the only non-flying Tier 1 class that can cross oceans, making them especially effective on maps where bridges can cause choke points for other units. They are basically the counterpart to the Bandit class.
Characters: Geese

Shaman[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: Dark Magic To: Hero
FEA-Shaman.gif
Shamans are practitioners of Dark Magic, which is extremely effective against Anima-using mages. Although Shamans have powerful attacks, they tend to move slowly and have a low level of accuracy with their attacks.
Characters: Ray and Sophia

Troubadour[edit]

From: None Move: 7 Weapons: Staves To: Valkyrie
FEA-Troubadour.gif
Troubadours are much like Clerics, only mounted on horses to allow for additional range. They are able to use Staves that, among other uses, are used primarily for healing allied units. Because Troubadours cannot attack, they can only level up by continuously healing injured allies.
Characters: Clarine

Wyvern Rider[edit]

From: None Move: 7 Weapons: Spears To: Wyvern Lord
FEA-WyvernRider.gif
Wyvern Riders are powerful units that have the ability to fly like Pegasus Knights but the durability of Cavaliers. Wyvern Riders are especially strong units, but still share the weakness to bows that Pegasus Knights do.
Characters: Miledy and Zeiss

Tier 2 Units[edit]

Berserker[edit]

From: Bandit, Pirate Move: 6 Weapons: Axes To: None
FEA-Berserker.gif
Berserkers are the promoted version of pirates and bandits. As this class, they are still limited to axes, but they gain the extra benefit of a 30% critical attack rate. This can be stacked with weapons like the Killer Axe, giving Berserkers an extremely high chance of doing critical damage.
Characters: Garret

General[edit]

From: Knight Move: 6 Weapons: Spears, Axes To: None
FEA-General.gif
Generals are the promoted version of knights. As this class they gain the ability to use axes in addition to their spears. Aside from this, the general class has overall better stats than knights.
Characters: Douglas and Hector

FEA-Sniper.gif
Snipers are the promoted version of archers. They maintain the archer's preference for bows and do not gain proficiency with other weapons. In general, the sniper class has overall better stats than archers.
Characters: Klein and Igraine

Swordmaster[edit]

From: Myrmidon Move: 6 Weapons: Swords To: None
FEA-Swordmaster.gif
Swordsmasters are the promoted version of myrmidons. In this class they are still limited to swords, but they gain the extra benefit of a 30% critical attack rate. This can be stacked with weapons like the Killer Sword, giving Swordmasters an extremely high chance of doing critical damage.

From: Fighter Move: 6 Weapons: Axes, Bows To: None
FEA-Warrior.gif
Warriors are the promoted version of fighters. They maintain the fighter's preference for axes, but gain the additional ability to use bows. Warriors have better defense than Berserkers, but lack the critical attack rate. The use of bows and axes give Warriors a special edge against flying units.
Characters: Bartre

Other Units[edit]

Thief[edit]

From: None Move: 6 Weapons: Sword To: None
FEA-Thief.gif
Thieves are speedy units thats are capable of using Picklocks to open doors and chests. They can also steal non-weapon items from other units, so long as their own inventory isn't full. The thief is one of the few units that can't be promoted, but their high speed makes it easy for them to dodge attacks.
Characters: Chad, Astol, and Cath

Transporter[edit]

From: None Move: 5 Weapons: None To: None
Transporter is Merlinus's unique class. The unit has no offensive abilities, but can access the party's inventory of items and trade with other units. Units adjacent to the Transporter can also use the inventory to withdraw and deposit items as well. Because the Transporter has no offensive abilities, Merlinus can only level up by surviving 100 attacks per level.
