Green is a Pokémon trainer who appeared in the Pokémon: Let's Go! games and originates from concept art for a third Pokémon trainer (along with Red and Blue) from the first generation games.
Background
Nothing was established about Green's background, but considering that she had an evolved starter Pokémon and matched Red and Blue, it was likely that she was another trainer hailing from Pallet Town. She was excitable, impulsive and eccentric, and she had a habit of throwing Poké Balls at people when she claimed that she wanted to catch them.
Within the Let's Go! games, she appeared after the Elite Four was beaten. She traveled into Cerulean Cave in search of Mewtwo. Chase/Elaine could find her in Mewtwo's area upon returning there after catching Mewtwo. She greeted the trainer by throwing a Poké Ball at them, having confused them with a Pokémon in the darkness. After finding out that they had already caught Mewtwo, she was disappointed and challenged them to a battle. After being defeated, she acknowledge Chase/Elaine's strength and gave them the Mega Stones needed for Mewtwo's Mega Evolutions. Green proceeded to propose that Chase/Elaine become her Pokémon along with Mewtwo and threw several more Poké Balls at them before departing.
Green reappeared in Cerulean City after the player defeated the Elite Four a second time. There, she could be challenged to rematches and threw further Poké Balls at the player if defeated. She could be battled on a daily basis.

Other Appearances
In Other Media
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Green was featured as one of the protagonists in several arcs, starting in the Red/Green/Blue arc. She was a young girl who conned others to survive, with the help of her trusty Ditto. She stole a Squirtle from Professor Oak's laboratory as her starter Pokémon and was shown to have a fear of birds, because she was kidnapped by one from Pallet Town at a young age. She became an ally over the course of the arc, and Oak ultimately acknowledged her by giving her a Pokédex. She later helped in the battle against the Elite Four in the Yellow arc (while investigating the Pokémon that had kidnapped her), and then the Gold/Silver/Crystal arc went into her background. She acted as an ally to Silver, and it was revealed that both had been kidnapped by the Mask of Ice with Ho-oh as children. Green overcame her fear of birds to capture Kanto's three legendary birds and helped Red and Blue in the final battles against the Mask of Ice and Johto's legendary birds. In the FireRed/LeafGreen arc, she was depicted wearing Leaf's clothes and went to the Sevii Islands to meet (and ultimately save) her long-lost parents. She and the other Pokédex holders were turned into stone at the end of the arc, but they were restored in the Emerald arc. She was then referred to in some later arcs and played a role in the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire arc. Among the Pokédex holders, her talent was said to be her knowledge of Pokémon evolution.
Trivia
- Green is based on concept art from the first generation games, which depicted a female trainer along with Red and Blue. It is uncertain whether she was intended to act as an NPC or a female option for the protagonist, although the female option for FireRed/LeafGreen (known as Leaf) was loosely based on Green's design. As finally seen in Let's Go!, Green seems to draw some inspiration from the Pokémon Adventures character.
- In the Japanese games, Blue and Green's names are switched. This is because Blue (the rival characters) was named after the second of the original two Pokémon versions (which was Green in Japan and Blue in America).
