Electivire is a powerful two-tailed electric Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It was introduced as the new evolved form for the first generation Pokémon Electabuzz, which retroactively makes it the third and final form in Elekid's evolutionary line.

Information[edit]

Electivire evolves from an Electabuzz that has been traded while holding an Electrizer. It has two tails which can unleash 20,000 volts of electricity. Regardless of the attacks used against it, Electivire will usually opt to close in on the enemy, shove their tails onto the foe and then attack with their high voltage electricity. Blue sparks will also crackle between an Electivire's horns as it builds up electricity.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Electivire has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving an Electabuzz.

Other Games[edit]

An Electivire could be unlocked in Pokémon Battle Revolution through use of a code, and it could be downloaded from there to any of the fourth generation games. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Electivire could be recruited at the Spacial Rift and Deep Spacial Rift, and a non-playable Electivire ran the link shop at Treasure Town. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Heath had one which acted as a boss, and Electivire could later be caught at Oil Field Hideout. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Layuda Island, Sky Fortress, the Thunder Temple and the Light Temple. In Pokémon Rumble, it was found at Eternal Tower. In PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, Electivire appeared at the Cavern Zone and the Granite Zone.

Video Games[edit]

In Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Gary had an Electivire which was introduced in Pallet Town at the end of the Battle Frontier series. Electivire were also shown as part of Paul and Volkner's respective teams during the Sinnoh series. Paul's Electivire notably evolved from his Elekid and was his last Pokémon during his final battle with Ash at the end of the series, where it lost to Infernape.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Electivire was featured as part of Volkner's team during the Diamond/Pearl arc. Mars also used one to drain energy from the Valley Windworks for Team Galactic's bomb.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name seems to be a combination of "electricity" and "wire".
