Kirby's Dream Land 2 is the second Kirby's Dream Land game and the thrid game in the Kirby series.
Story
The rainbows that connect the islands of Dream Land have been stolen by King Dedede, who is possessed by Dark Matter. Kirby must defeat him and restore order to the land.
Gameplay
Kirby's Dream Land followed the established Kirby formula. Kirby runs, jump, flies, and inhales enemies to copy their abilities.
This game introduced animal allies that helped Kirby through the levels. Rick the Hamster could carry Kirby up walls. Coo the Owl could fly through strong winds that Kirby couldn't. Kine the Ocean Sunfish could help Kirby swim.
Legacy
Sequels
The next game in the series, Kirby's Dream Land 3, was released for the Super Nintendo in 1997.
Ports and Remakes
- A remake was planned for the Game Boy Color as Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX, but it was cancelled along with Metroid II: Return of Samus DX.
- In 2012, it was released for download through the 3DS's eShop as part of the 3DS Virtual Console.
