Teba is a Rito warrior from the The Legend of Zelda series who originally appeared as a supporting character in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before appearing as a playable warrior in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Background

Teba was a Rito warrior who lived in Hyrule's Rito Village with his wife Saki and a young son named Tulin. He could have a gruff disposition, and he was known for being stubborn and determined. Like most Rito warriors, he looked up to the fallen Rito Champion Revali and trained to be a skilled archer like him. He came to be known as the village's best flier. Teba also hoped that his son Tulin could become a worthy successor to Revali and trained him often under the guise of playing with him. Aside from his family, Teba also became close to Harth, because their children were the same age and played together.

Breath of the Wild

During the timeframe of Breath of the Wild, the Divine Beast Vah Medoh suddenly appeared in the skies above Rito Village. Against the warnings of others, Teba and Harth took to the skies in an attempt to investigate it, but the Divine Beast immediately open fired on them. The Rito warriors tried putting up a fight, only to ultimately be forced to retreat after Harth was injured. Undeterred, Teba retreated to the Flight Range to prepare to fight Vah Medoh again on his own and destroy it if he had to. It was there at the Flight Range that [[Link] found Teba, as the the Hylian had been sent by the Rito elder to talk sense into him. Link ultimately volunteered to join Teba in taking on Vah Medoh, but Teba was initially skeptical of Link's motives and abilities. He found Link's name to be familiar, but he was not sure where he heard it. To test Link's mettle, Teba had him take on a target challenge using the Flight Range's updrafts. Link passed in such a way that Teba was left impressed by Link's abilities, so Teba let Link come along with him and gave him a Falcon Bow that he modified himself as well as some Bomb Arrows. Teba brought Link up to the skies were Vah Medoh was. There, Teba drew the Divine Beast's cannon fire, while Link soared on the updrafts and targetted Vah Medoh's cannons with Bomb Arrows. Ultimately, they succeeded in destroying Vah Medoh's cannons, which neutralized its threat and made it possible for Link to enter the Divine Beast. Teba's leg was badly injured by cannon fire in the procress, and he was forced to retreat.

After Vah Medoh was completely freed, Teba could be found back at Rito Village, where he had recovered enough to be able to stand. He thanked Link for what he had done. Teba also said that he had heard from his wife that Link was a descendent of the Hylian Champion, which explained his skill in Teba's eyes. Link could attempt to clarify that he actually was a Champion, but Teba would laugh that off as a joke, as he did not think that any of the Champions survived or could be as young as Link. Later on, Teba recovered enough to fly Tulin out to the Flight Range for practice, and he also gave his son a Silver Rupee to pass on to Link if he did well enough. During the Champions' Ballad DLC, it was shown that the Diary of Revali had been uncovered and was left at Teba's home for safekeeping due to his admiration of the Champion.

Age of Calamity

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity featured an alternate timeline in which a small time-traveling Guardian named Terrako provided warriors of the past with guidance to prevent the Great Calamity from occurring. In Chapter 5, Terrako created additional time portals to bring in warriors from the future to save the Champions from being killed by the Blight Ganons. One of those portals brought Teba to Vah Medoh just as Revali was about to be killed by Windblight Ganon. Teba was able to save Revali, and the two of them worked together fighting Windblight Ganon, ultimately defeating it after a third warrior arrived as backup. Afterwards, Teba helped Revali to operate Vah Medoh in battle. Teba was shown to be put off by Revali's treatment of Link, but he ultimately retained his respect for the Rito Champion. During a DLC mission, Teba and Revali discovered that Tulin had somehow been pulled into this timeline as well, and they escorted him safely out of the Great Korok Forest. In the aftermath, Tulin expressed his admiration of Revali, and Revali acknowledged that he could surpass him some day, but Teba reminded his son that he had to outdo his old man first. The Ritos ultimately laughed together. During the ending for the DLC scenarios, Teba laughed while watching Revali help a sleeping Tulin with his blanket, which he was blowing off in his sleep.

Ultimately, the warriors were successful in destroying Calamity Ganon and preventing the Great Calamity. In the game's endings, all of the warriors were returned to their original times. This included Teba, who expressed that it was enlightening to meet the face behind the Champion.
