Kirby's Star Stacker (known in Japan as Kirby no Kirakira Kizzu, which translates to Kirby's Miracle Kids) is a puzzle game featuring Kirby that was originally released for the Game Boy in 1997.

Gameplay

Blocks fall from the top of the screen, either in the form of Kirby's animal friends or as Star Blocks. Animals disappear when two of them are stacked next to each other. Having Star Blocks in between the pair makes the Star Blocks disappear and score more points.

The game has several modes. In Round Clear, player's must clear a certain amount of stars before moving on to the next round. VS lets players compete with each other. In Challenge, the player must play as long as possible. The player has three minutes to eliminate as many stars as possible in Time Attack.

Legacy

Ports and Remakes

  • In Japan, there was a remake that was created for the Super NES which added a Story mode. The game was considered for international release, but those plans were canceled when Nintendo of America decided to stop shipping games in 1997, due to the rise of the Nintendo 64.
  • In 2012/2013, the original Game Boy version was released for download on the 3DS as part of the 3DS Virtual Console.
