Party Goers the Comic
There have been two different attempts at a comic based on the Party Goers series.
Nintenfreak's Series[edit]
Start: August 14, 2003
End: Discontinued (Last update on October 11, 2003)
Timeline: Out-of-Continuity
Main Contributors: Nintenfreak, Golem.
Main Cast: Golem, Sapphire, Big Al, Nintenfreak, Flutter, Magikoopa, King Cobalt.
Overview[edit]
This comic was written by Nintenfreak and illustrated by Golem. It attempted to retell the Party Goers' history in a new way, and also introduced semi-non-copyrighted versions of some characters (for example, Bomberman's appearance was changed, and he was redubbed "Bomboy"). It lasted for nine pages before it became inactive.
Plot Summary[edit]
On March 31, 1988, a member of The Council delivers a package to the newly-born boy who would later be known as Golem. Twelve years later, Golem opened the package to find a new scarf. He also found another present in the form of adventure when Sapphire came to him looking for help, as her car had crashed after Team Omega cut her brakes.
Golem volunteered to accompany her. After a confrontation with Team Omega and the Arab Dude, Golem and Sapphire fall through some strange warp under a floorboard of some sort. They soon arrive at Lasa Vegas. There they meet with Nintenfreak, Big Al and Flutter. Golem learns that Sapphire is on the run from her father, whom had been corrupted by a jewel of some sort which led him to place prices on the heads of Big Al and Flutter. Sapphire had helped them to escape.
Trivia[edit]
- In one panel, Team Omega is seen attacking someone who looks suspiciously like Luigi 64.

Party Goers.Keenspace[edit]
Start: July 15, 2003
End: Discontinued (Last updated on April 3, 2005)
Main Contributors: Vorpal (Guest Writers) Golem, Nintenfreak, Luigi of the Pipes, Yoshiman.
Main Cast: Golem, Sapphire, Rhyk, Flutter, Magikoopa, Dodo, Vorpal, Ditto McCloaker, Masamune, Dodo, Yoshiman, Mr. Predict, Wrange Tirk, Moondo.
Overview[edit]
The comic was started in July 2003 by Vorpal. The format was originally a three-panel, black-and-white strip. At first the comic was updated daily. Eventually there became gaps between new comics due to several periods of inactivity. It eventually died down in April 2004.
In March 2005, the comic was rebooted in a new format of full-color pages. But only three were made before the comics became inactive again.
Plot Summary[edit]
Golem decides to throw another party to celebrate Nintendo's Mega Mega Tonn Announcement, against Rhyk's better judgement. He begins to invite all the regular Party Goers. However, the party as usual attracts some supervillains. Masamune plots to steal Guiseppie from Ditto so he could utilize its shape-shifting powers.
At the same time, Magikoopa and Team Rocket Omega was enlisted to try stealing Sapphire's Pikachu, again. Moondo spied on the conversation, but after being ratted out by the narrator he fled from Team Rocket until he fell out a window.
Things get worse when Sapphire and Vorpal are accidentally locked in the freezer room of Arab Dude's party store. Elsewhere, a future version of Wrange Tirk arrives to hunt down Arnold Shwarzenneger and prevent him from becoming governor from California. The present-day Wrange Tirk goes off on mischief-making with Fuzzball.
The party, held at the Really Tall Mall, is a success at first. But everything starts going downhill when Yoshiman hears Nintendo's big annoucement - they were leaving the video gaming business to become fisherman, after being paid off by Microsoft. Masamune and Team Rocket Omega each made their moves at that moment, turning off the lights and successfully grabbing both Pikachu and Guisseppie.
Golem is forced to call off the party so the Party Goers could split up and tackle their problems. Flutter and Ditto (who is trapped in the form of Mr. Game and Watch without Guisseppie) are sent to find Pikachu and Guisseppie. Golem, Yoshiman and Mr. Predict leave to search for Sapphire. Finally Luigi, Splog and Slort are sent to investigate Team Rocket Omega and Masamune due to Golem's suspicions.
Luigi spots Team Rocket Omega fleeing to Canada. He brings Flutter and Ditto with him on a road trip there in pursuit. Rhyk finds Moondo lying wounded after his fall and brings him to a hospital bed to recover, alongside Fuzzball and Wrange Tirk (who were there after a "scuffle at the hazmat department"). In Arab Dude's freezer, Vorpal tells Sapphire about his past and how he obtained the Vorpal Sword from Arab Dude's Revenge Outlet. Golem's group soon discovers them there and frees them.
Golem, Sapphire, Yoshiman and Mr. Predict return to Rhyk by the hospital beds. Golem decides their next course of action should be to go to Japan and save Nintendo. But first they need money, so they decide to travel to Las Vegas.
In the meantime the villains check out their captives - only to find that they each grabbed the wrong creature. Masamune and Dodo have grabbed Pikachu, while Team Rocket Omega has captured Guisseppie.
Random Sunday/Guest Comics[edit]
The Random Sunday concept was basically a comic that would be written by a guest author each Sunday. There were usually full-page and in-color. These comics were unrelated to the main comic's story and had appearance by some characters who were not in the main comic (like Big Al). The Random Sundays ran from July 20, 2003 and proceeded regularly until November 20, 2003, after which only three more Random Sundays were written (two of which were made by Vorpal).
There were also several "extra" comics. Nintenfreak filled in for one guest week while Vorpal was busy, with a six-part comic involving Erne Eagleman from The Toadman. Additionally there was The Adventures of the Robot King, which had two installments. The first was written by Vorpal and the second by Luigi of the Pipes.
References/Homages to Other OGs[edit]
- At one point Flutter becomes drunk on water, a reference to an old gag from Party Goers 17.
- Luigi 64 and Zora appear as past Party Goers members in reference to them being part of the original Party Goers group in Party Goers.
- Masamune's base is the floating island of New Atlantis, I think there was an OG about it.
