Orbulon is a 2000-year old, superintelligent space alien who has made recurring appearances throughout the WarioWare games. Orbulon and his crew (which seems to be made up entirely of space rabbits) travel the galaxy in his spaceship, but Orbulon is always being hampered by problems with the ship. Orbulon became acquainted with Wario after an incident when his ship crashed into Wario's house.

Background[edit]

Orbulon originally came to Earth to conquer it. An unfortunate accident severely damaged his ship, and after being abandoned by his would-be rescuers (primarily for bragging about his intelligence), he was abandoned and ended up settling in at Diamond City in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$. Due to his intelligence, he developed games for WarioWare, inc. that forced the player to think.

In Mega Party Game$!, after his spaceship is lost he disguises himself as an attractive young woman and hitches a ride with Dribble and Spitz's taxi. They reached his ship, at which point Orbulon attempted to make the two taxi drivers into his udnerlings, but the ship was soon hit by an asteroid causing them to crash at Dr. Crygor's lab. Both Orbulon and Crygor wound up riding in Dribble and Spitz's taxi back to Diamond City. In Twisted! after falling asleep while cruising in his ship, he is caught in a time warp which made his mini-games twice as long. However it took him awhile to enter the password before he could turn on Warp Mode and get out. When he went to park the ship at a planet, it turned out the planet was actually a monster which swallowed the ship and then spat it back out. Later on in WarioWare: Touched!, Orbulon is chased for a time by Ashley who wants to use him for her spell. He manages to escape and she used Red instead.

Orbulon also appeared in WarioWare: Smooth Moves after the main game had been beaten. This time his spaceship had been hit by a meteorite which was actually the Power Stone. This caused Orbulon's ship to crash into the Temple of Form. There Orbulon found the Form Baton and combined it with the Power Stone to make his own form, known as the Diner. However the Splunks, the protectors of the Form Baton, soon kicked him out of the Temple. In WarioWare: D.I.Y., he winds up stuck on a rocketship after his ship is struck by lightning. He was among the developers who left WarioWare to join Diamond Software in this game, possibly dissatisfied with Wario's lack of work.

He returned in Game & Wario, where he hosted the multiplayer game Sketch, which was similar to Pictionary.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In the Super Smash Bros. series, Orbulon has been represented as a sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (using his art from Mega Party Game$! and as an Advanced Support Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (using his art from WarioWare Gold). His Spirit's Support effect is to protect the player character from effects that reverse the player's controls. When fought in a Spirit battle, he possesses Mewtwo and is assisted by a Starman Assist Trophy.

Trivia[edit]

  • In the first game, Orbulon appears to be somewhat shorter than all the other characters; however, he is resized in later games to be closer to the average height.
  • In "Touched!", his primary role is dropping off unlocked items for the Toybox. Like Dribble and Spitz, he wasn't given any microgames.
  • In the instruction manual for the first Warioware game, Orbulon says that he is turning 2000 that year. However, in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! he instead says that he is instead said to be 2003 (possibly reflecting the year of WarioWare's release).
